shoes and makeup

Ok people, I need your help. Where did you get your makeup done/who did it/what did you use for your wedding (or any other fancy event in your life) and where did you get your shoes/what brand/what's your opinion on wedding shoes? I definitely want something that I'm going to be comfortable in, but I also want them to look glamourous! ;0) I also don't know what to do about my makeup. I have someone doing my hair already, but I don't have anyone for makeup. So help me out here people! I need ideas! Please???!!

THANKS!! :0)

I bought my shoes from David's Bridal, actually. I would recommend a kitten heel since you'll be on your feet most of the day. If you're set on a taller heel, Karen Scott (bought at Dillard's?) high heels have always been really comfortable for me (as in work-an-8-hour-shift-at-Gap comfortable) though I don't know if she makes anything dressy enough for a wedding dress.

Hi Chelsey, We have some common friends and I happened upon your page. My bridal shoes were quite different so I thought I would put the idea out there! I really wanted to be comfortable so my bridesmaids and I wore white skechers sneakers with very faint silver sparkles on them. People loved them! I still run into people who tell me how cute they were and we've been married for 6 years! Just decide whats most important for you and go for it!

I suggest keeping your makeup simple. I did my own. The reason I say simple is because my husband had a good point. He said, "I am marrying you; I don't want your face covered in a ton of makeup. I want to see YOU." Go simple. You'll be radiant and glowing anyway.

As far as shoes are concerned, I wore slippers from David's Bridal only because my husband magically becomes a lot shorter than me when I wear heels. I doubt you have that problem, though. I would go for something comfortable, like Erica suggested.

I agree with Cassandra on the make-up. Don't do anything that you normally don't do. I did my own as well just because I was scared for someone else to not do it and me not like it.

My shoes were a low heel and I can't remember where they came from but they were not very expensive. People don't see very much of them. Spend your money somewhere else.

BUT ultimately it is all up to you.

I bought my shoes from myglassslipper.com for $15 and then bought some flip flops with an equal heel height (your dress will be hemmed to your heel height, so you want comfy shoes to dance in that are the same height) for the reception.

Hair/makeup were both done by Chelsea Vaughn -- another recommendation is Erin Blair Gobin. They both trained with the same lady. If you want contact info for either let me know.

I thought my makeup looked fairly natural, but it was a LOT more than I usually wear but you can't tell in photos. You will look washed out in your photos if you don't have good makeup. And I would avoid mineral makeup -- it's got a glittery/sparkly base (which is why it makes your skin look so pretty) that is very bad for photos.
