Friday Night Lights

This past Friday night, I tagged along with Amy and Jorge to go watch Allen play Plano Senior High at Plano. It was probably the best game I've seen in a long time..we had SO much fun! It was true Friday night football weather :0) The game was so good! One of the most exciting things that we got to see though, was the Navy parachute guys. The jet flew over the stadium and dropped the jumpers out and they flew in and landed on the football field! I posted videos that I took of them. WATCH THE SECOND ONE FIRST! In the second video, at the very end, you'll notice that the parachute looks a little different. At first we thought it was a guy with two parachutes, but it's actually two parachuters hooked together! I wasn't able to get it on the video, but it was really cool because they suddenly broke off and both flew in together. Have fun and watch them! WARNING! DO NOT have your volume turned up all the way when you watch the videos. Have it turned on some, but not full blast! I apologize in advance for all of Amy and mine's screaming. Hey, we were excited!

OUCH!

Last night~for the first time in I can't remember how long ago~I got soap in my eye while I was in the shower washing my hair. It hurt like crap and I almost cried. Geez...

Joe T. Garcia's

So when I went to my workshop this past Tuesday, Eliza wanted to go eat at this Mexican food restaurant in Ft. Worth. I'd never heard of it, but we all said sure, so we went. It was amazing! The food was good, but that wasn't the most amazing part. It was their gardens! Evidently this is what Joe T. Garcia's is famous for.. they are so packed on the weekend, the line is out the door and in the street. Nobody ever wants to sit inside, everyone asks to sit out on the patio. After going there, I can see why. 'Liza said that she had been to a wedding reception there, and all of us girls said that it would be perfect for a wedding reception or a rehearsal dinner ;0) I most certainly agree! Enjoy the beautiful pictures~ I know that I did!

Today is my brother Chase's 17 birthday!

Chase,

I hope that you had a wonderful day! I am so proud of you and love you so much! I can remember exactly the day you were born, and when you came the hospital. I was so excited that I FINALLY had a baby brother after having 3 sisters. You were the cutest thing and so sweet. You were "my baby". I always picked you up and rocked you and took care of you. I didn't want anybody else to. I remember always sleeping in the bed in your nursery, just so I could watch over and take care of you. If any baby could have been kissed to death, it would have been you! You will always be "my baby" no matter how old you get or even if you're the one who can pick ME up now. I love you so much brother of mine~ Happy Birthday!

I know he meant well..

but I don't think my Jimiah knew the impact of his words when he ran up to me, gave me a big hug, then looked up at me with that sweet face and said, "Miss Snodgrass are you going to have a baby?!" I'm sure that my loud gasp and look of shock on my face might have given it away that that was NOT something you say to your old teacher. I said, "NO!! Jimiah do I LOOK like I'm going to have a baby?" Then he just looked at me with a big smile, and said, "no!" and gave me another hug.

After school, he came up again and gave me another hug and then said, "Miss Snodgrass you look really pretty!"

It ALMOST made up for what he said earlier ;0) Geez I love that kid.....

Angela the Elephant!

This was so cute I had to share!

Yesterday morning during class, we were doing our daily morning question. The question of the day was, "If you could be any animal, what animal would you be and why?". The children's answers were pretty cute..one said flamingo, because they would love to be pink, one said a tiger so he could roar at people, one said a dog, because dogs were fun.

However, my favorite one came from my Angela. Angela is a precious little girl I have, who is so beautiful, sweet, and VERY quiet. I think of her as a little pixie..she is so tiny! Anyways, when it was her turn, I said, "Angela what animal would you be?" and she said, " an ELEPHANT!" I was very surprised when she said that, so I said, "Why would you like to be an elephant?" and she replied, "because they stomp!" Hahahahaha..how presh is that! It's just so ironic..you have this quiet, little bitty thing who inside wants to be the exact opposite..huge and loud!

It made my day! :0)

Nightmare

Last night, I dreamed about a teacher's worst nightmare. I FORGOT ABOUT PICTURE DAY!! My hair was nasty, for some reason I was at school wearing jeans and a t-shirt, and I had no makeup on! You bet that's a nightmare.

Picture day is October 10th. Somebody remind me!!!

post anything about the new season premiere of Grey's Anatomy! Yes, I'm talking to YOU..you obsessed Grey's Anatomy fan. I know that you won't sleep at all tonight, because you are so excited about tomorrow and counting down the hours until tomorrow night. However, for both of our sakes, if you don't want to ruin mine and Grey's history, then you won't mention any details that will give anything away. You may say, "I loved it..it was so good..blah blah". However, NO DETAILS! I know this will be hard for you, but just give me about 2 more weeks or so, then you may blog about it to your little heart's desire! :0) Got it? GOOD! I knew you'd see it my way :0) Love you too!

It's Already a Good Day!

Why? Because:

• right now it's 6:30 am and I'm dressed (looking beautiful if I might say ;0), ready to go..EARLY(that never happens)!
• today is PAYDAY!!!!! Whoo hooo...I could just post that and it would be enough. AND today is the first check that I'll get that has my new salary increase ;0)
• the new Rascal Flatts cd, "Take Me There" comes out today!
• I'm going to get to go to Chick-fil-A for breakfast! AND it's going to be free because I have a teacher's coupon!

Now, somebody just TRY and beat my morning ;0)

A good night..

So it's actually turned out to be a good night! I got out of my grad school class earlier then planned..but shhhh..if anyone asks, we were there until 9:30!

Class was really good tonight..I felt like I wasn't there as long as I actually was and I felt like I learned and could apply all the material. Plus, we had some yummy food and desserts! I mean come on, how can your evening go wrong when you have chocolate cake?!

Another good thing is that tomorrow I get to play hookie from school! Well, actually I'm going to a workshop..but still..it's a little change in the everyday routine! Yay for change!

SO true!

I completely stole this from my friend Megan's blog, but I honestly couldn't have said it better myself. This is why one of my relationships didn't work..his was really "won't".

I can't believe when some people say they 'can't do long distance relationships.' The 'can't' really is 'won't' because if you truly care for someone, you'll do absolutely anything to make it work. The funny thing is, my relationship hardly seems like work. We might be 700 miles apart, but we still have our daily routine. I think the distance makes our relationship stronger than most, actually, because we can't get into a rut... we have to work and have conversation since we don't see each other weekly, and those conversations make us learn more about each other, and crave to learn more about each other. When people say, "you just know," as far as who your soulmate ends up being, it is so unbelievably clear to me. I completely get it.

I feel like I'm back in college...

Tonight was the first time in over 2 years that I have actually had homework. So what do I do? Act like a college student and wait until the evening before to get my homework done :0) This afternoon I went up to school, made my bazillion copies and got things ready for the week. I am going to be out all day on Tuesday at a workshop, so I have to get everything ready for my sub. Normally this wouldn't create a problem;however, since I also have my grad school class tomorrow night from 4:30-9:30, problem created.

So after I got finished at school, I came home and..worked on my homework right? WRONG! I decided to postpone it a little while longer, and called my best friend Kyrbie. We talked for about an hour and a half, then I decided I better get to work. So then I popped out:

• one 6 page paper on ethnic and racial diversity
• one 4 page substitute lesson plans for Tuesday
• read 25 very long, small print, pages for my reading assignment for grad class

and I finished it all by 11:00! I was so proud of myself :0) I really do feel like I'm in college again..

except where are all my friends and the cute guys?! :0)

Grey's Season 4

Yes, yes..it does start this Thursday...which is also the same day as..SMALLVILLE!!!! Now, normally this would pose a huge problem for me;however, I have one thing that will save the day, and that my friends is called Direct TV! :0) I of course will not be watching the season premiere of Grey's, but I will record it. Hopefully I get get all of seasons 2 and 3 finished before episode 2 of season 4 comes on. We'll see!!
