Happy Memorial Day!

I'm happy to report that we've had (and are still in the process of having) a wonderful weekend! We drove down to Shreveport on Friday after school and have spent our weekend relaxing, grilling out, going to the pool, and just being LAZY! It's been wonderful! J

It was soooo nice to be able to sleep in today and know that in just 4 short more days, summer will officially be here! I have a ton of stuff still left to do before school gets out, but I'm not going to think about that today. There's time for that tomorrow! I hope that you all are having a wonderful Monday off and enjoying time relaxing with friends and family! I know I am!

The Secret's Out!

I'm so excited that I can FINALLY say that my best friend Kyrbie is going to be a Mommy! :) She told me a couple of weeks ago, but I've had to keep it a secret until now. Last night she and her husband, Will, finally made it official on Facebook, so I guess it can be official in the blog world too! ;)

I am so unbelieveably happy for her! We've been best friends for 12 years now and have gone through high school and college together, been in each other's weddings, and now will begin this brand new journey into motherhood!

Kyrbie Alexis, you are going to be such and amazing mother and I am SO excited for you both! I love you best friend! Baby White is in for some major spoiling from "Aunt" Chelsey! Yay for new babies and best friends!

Graduation Pictures!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get around to posting pictures of my graduation! Here are a few, but you can check out the whole album on Facebook! Graduation was a big success and I was so blessed to have family and friends come out to support me! Love you all!

Love,
Master Chelsey!

hmmm..

My husband has been complaining about the lack of clean clothes in his closet and dresser drawers and that I have not been doing laundry lately. I have NO IDEA what he's talking about!

Graduation Day (well actually tomorrow)!

Tomorrow I will FINALLY graduate with my Masters in Elementary Education! It's been a long three years coming!

Three years ago, I entered the program because some co-workers of mine were going to do it, I honestly didn't have anything holding me back, it sounded like a good idea at the time, and I didn't have anything better to do! ;)

Now, fast forward 2 years later and I met Bryan. This is when my classes started getting crazy and I'll admit, there were times when I seriously decided just giving up on the whole thing and quitting. I probably would have, but Bryan convinced me that I had worked so hard and all of my hard work would be for nothing if I quit, so I didn't. J

Tonight, I'm very glad that I stuck with it and proud of all my hard work! J It's a different feeling this time around. I think about my high school graduation, my college graduation, and now my master's graduation and all of the different feelings I remember having. This time, I just feel relief and happiness, at knowing that my schooling has finally come to an end. A perfect ending! J Stay tuned for more graduation updates tomorrow and pictures of the graduate! After tomorrow, you may all call me "Master Chelsey"! J

Looks like a bullet kind of night…

Let me start by saying that I feel like the world's biggest slacker! I have really great intentions of blogging, but there always seems to be something more pressing that needs to be done. Poor blogger has been put on the back burner lately. Hopefully we can remedy that soon, but until then…bullets it is!

  • Teacher Appreciation Week was last week at school! It's my favorite week ever, I had lunch brought to me every day and was showered with goodies!
  • Friday had Field Day at school..shoot me
  • Went to see my Mom for Mother's Day weekend in Waco
  • Got to see my bestie Kyrbie and had the best night ever! J
  • Went to my sister Chessa's pinning graduation from nursing school
  • Went to my Aunt and Uncle's farm in Comanche, TX where we had BBQ and a real live barn dance
  • Went spotlighting and tried to go hog hunting (it's a big problem on their farm and the hogs are doing some serious damage)
  • Sadly didn't see anything that night..I was very disappointed
  • Drove back to Rockwall…never want to drive again after all the driving we've been doing lately
  • Monday went on a field trip to the Science Place at Fairpark..most dramatic beginning of a field trip I've ever had in 4 yrs.
  • Tonight we had a potluck with our growth group from class
  • I was in charge of desserts and made a cherry cheesecake, key lime pie, and Reese's chocolate bars. Those bars were a big hit!
  • I should be typing sub plans instead of typing this post.
  • I'm going to the Ranger's game tomorrow night with my husband, sister Charity and her bf Luke tomorrow night
  • I'm taking a mental health day on Thursday to do whatever I feel like.
  • I'm taking off Friday to clean house and get things in order for this weekend
  • I'm graduating with my master's degree on Saturday! I've been waiting three years for this day.
  • I am SO. INCREDIBLY. TIRED.
  • The end.

Chelsey turns the big 2-7!

So, I'm just now getting around to posting about my birthday which was on 4-25. Yes, I've been a bit busy!

I had a wonderful weekend celebrating my birthday! My awesome team (with the help of my husband) surprised me the Friday before with lunch from Chick-fil-A, homemade chocolate cake, a dozen red roses, and a sweet card! Yep, they totally rock! Of course another great birthday gift was that my new dining room table arrived! Whoo hoo!

That afternoon my sister Charity and her boyfriend Luke came up, along with my SIL Rachel and MIL Willa. We decided to do dinner and a movie and had lots of fun. We went and saw The Backup Plan with Jennifer Lopez. It was ok, but not as good as I expected. I'd recommend waiting until it comes out on dvd!

My FIL Bob drove up after work on Friday night to join in all the fun! Saturday morning we slept in, Bryan and Bob made a wonderful breakfast and then we spent the rest of the morning being lazy! We all got ready that afternoon and drove to Arlington to meet my bestie Morgan at Cheddar's Café. We had a great time at dinner, then headed over to the ballpark! We went to the Ranger's game that night and had a blast, even though they lost L.

Sunday morning, we got up and went to church, then came back and cooked a yummy lunch! I opened my gifts and then we just spent time watching t.v and hanging out. It was a great birthday weekend and thanks to all who came to participate! Love ya'll!

Come on in and take a seat...

at our new dining room table that is! ;) We finally found her at Rooms to Go and Bryan stayed home last Friday for them to deliver it. It was torture to have to wait all week to have it delivered, but we were so glad when it was! I LOVE it! We bought 6 chairs for now, but we'll probably buy 2 more in the future. It comes with a leaf and extends to 96 inches for when we have friends or family come over. It was also perfect timing because we had some of our family come up for my birthday weekend. It was so nice to finally be able to all sit at the same table and be together!

Bryan doesn't really understand why having this table is so important to me, but it is. At this table we'll probably laugh and cry together. We'll be able to watch our babies grow at this table, spend hours talking with our friends and family, and make memories to last a lifetime. Hopefully one day, we'll still be sitting at this table, talking about all of our memories. It might sound silly, but that's how I feel! :)

and here's my handsome husband! :)

GREAT news!

So, yesterday when I got home and checked the mail, I saw that we had a big packet from our taxes guy. This year we decided to have the guy that Bryan's family has used for years do our taxes (since we got married and all that jazz). We filled out everything and sent it in, and then yesterday we got all of our information back in the mail! When I saw how much our refund was, saying that I was thrilled is putting it lightly! I called Bryan immediately and told him, and he shouted out a big whoo hoo! Let's just say that with our refund money, we'll be able to do a lot, and get several things that we've been waiting for. For example, a new DINING ROOM TABLE!! Whoo hoo! I've been waiting for a real dining room table for over a year now, and I'm so excited that I'm finally going to be able to get one that I'm about to pee my pants! We've started looking around at furniture stores, and are going tonight to several stores to just look around and price check. We got all of our furniture last year from The Dump in Dallas and LOVE that place! We'll see what all is in the surrounding area before we go to The Dump.

We want something that's rectangular, dark cherry wood, and seats at least 6, but includes a leaf to seat 8. With both of our families being so large, it's really important to me to have a table big enough that we can all sit around and be in the same room! I'm also so excited because I'll actually get to use all of my nice table settings that I got from the wedding! Yippee!!

So my question for you is, where did you find your dining room table or where is your favorite place to shop for furniture with good deals?

P.S Thanks a lot for all of your comments yesterday about the birthday post! I really appreciate it!

If you could, what would you ask for?

So, my birthday is coming up soon, in like 11 days! Whoo hoo! I'll be the big 2-7. WOW~ that just feels really old to me! I know most people will say it's not, but to me it feels that way. Anyways, to the point of this post, my hubby and others have been asking me what I want for my birthday. You know how every year you get asked that question, and you try to think of things that you want and one of two things will happen. 1, you automatically know exactly what you want, or 2, you have no idea. What normally happens to me is that I will just come up with something, but then after my birthday I'll think of really good ideas or things I should have asked for.

So, my question is, if you had to make a birthday list of things you really wanted for your birthday, what would you ask for? Hopefully, I'll get some good ideas from ya'll and steal them! Oh and also, what is your favorite movie/movies? I can't wait to see all of your answers!

It’s getting close!

Yes, that would be my graduation from graduate school! May 15th to be exact! I can't wait! J

This afternoon they were having a graduation fair at the Mesquite metroplex, so I drove to Bryan's school after he got done with tutoring and picked him to go to Mesquite. Poor thing was not feeling well..he's basically lost his voice because he had to lecture and his throat was killing him. This morning he was in so much pain, he got up at 5:30, YES AM, to go and get his prescription filled. Hopefully now that he's on his antibiotics, he'll be able to get to feeling better soon.

We made it to Mesquite and I was able to try on and buy my cap and gown right there on the spot. I also was able to order my invitations, so that was very exciting! After we left, Bryan kept telling me that he was so proud of me, that I'm the "smartest Moss" and the only one with her masters (that is until he finishes his next year)! It made me feel very special!

We celebrated by going and eating a yummy dinner at McAlister's and that was G-O-O-D! I did have to get on Skype and we had to show Mom and Dad me in my cap and tassel! ;) I thought that it was really funny that the gowns have "wings" on them..seriously. It's hilarious and yes, I did put my gown on and run around flapping my "wings". Now, if I can only figure out how to put on that ginormous collar…..

Confused….

Well people, I've been sitting here, trying to think of something interesting to write about, but I'm coming up with nothing. I get that this is supposed to be more like my own personal online journal (that everyone is allowed to see..hehe), but I will admit that I love all of my blog friends that I've made and love reading your blogs. I just have no idea how you do some things! Like, how in the world do you get all of those comments? Seriously..I think the post that I got the most comments on was when I announced that I was engaged, but I haven't come close to getting that many comments in a LONG time! Plus, I just wrote 2 very long posts about my trips to London and Germany and got NO comments at all except for Tyly (thank you Tyly for your comment J). I know that I'm probably being a big baby, but it just gets frustrating when you work so hard and long on some posts and nobody ever says anything about it at all. Ok, I'm done with my rant now.

Question number two, how in the world do you all get so many followers? I added the box and follow other people but, I don't know how to get more followers. Ok, well I guess that's all. I still don't have anything interesting to talk about. My husband is now sick, and stayed home yesterday. That was great fun. He went to the Dr. and got 2 shots in the hiney and lots of meds, so he should be on the road to recovery. Bad news is that my ear still is stopped up and I can't hear ANYTHING. That is annoying as CRAP! I'm so over it.

Ok, husband is yelling at me to get off and go to bed, so goodnight all!

Happy Easter Weekend!

Well, we're in Shreveport for Easter weekend and I'm SO glad for this little break! I've definitely been in need of it! Unfortunately, I'm a little under the weather and have been all week. L Hence, the lack of blogging lately. My week has gone a little something like this!

Last weekend was spent working on homework, but Bryan and I did go watch some of my girl's soccer games. It was their first game of the season and they were so glad I came! We had fun watching them! The weather was beautiful, windy, but nice. Bryan and I officially got our first sunburn! After the game, we went and got a snack at Sonic, and went to Lowes to get fertilizer. I took Bryan back to the house so he could go fertilize our lawn and then I went shopping for a new Easter dress! That was fun!

I of course put off all of my graduate school homework until the last minute! I had my regular homework (reading 3 books, doing pithy quotes, writing a reaction paper) plus my course essays to write. Those are 4 essays over 4 core classes that I've taken over the past 3 years. I worked finished my homework over the weekend and then had class on Monday night. Then, I wrote one essay on Sun/Mon, one on Tues and started another, then finished the rest on Wednesday. Tuesday night I had to go to the PTA meeting, and then worked on an essay. I also had to prepare for a meeting that I was hosting on Wednesday for part of my leadership class final, so I was stressed out about that too! After we went to the soccer games on Saturday, I started to feel under the weather. We thought it was just allergies, so I didn't really think anything of it. However, it got worse during the week, so we decided it wasn't allergies. I didn't sleep good all week long because I had a horrible cough. Then, I woke up Wednesday morning with a really bad ear ache in my right ear. Bryan thought I should go to our clinic that the district provides, but I checked online and they didn't have ANY appointments available. Bryan told me to go after school and ask them if they would look at me even without an appointment, bc one of his coworkers had been in the same situation and she ended up being seen without an appointment, so I said ok. I barely survived on Wednesday, but made it through and my meeting I hosted went really good.

I cleaned up really fast and then raced over to the clinic at the perfect time. The last appointment they take of the day is at 4:40 and I got there at like 4:55, so the Dr. would have been seeing her last patient and then could have seen me (which would have taken like no time at all). So I walked into the clinic and told the receptionist that I didn't have an appointment, but I was pretty sure that I had an ear infection and could the Dr. see me. She told me NO! She said they had two appointments available the next day at 1 and 2, but I told her that I was a teacher and couldn't make those appointments. She was like, well we're closed on Friday, so the earliest I can get you in is on Monday. HELLO?!! DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID! ARE YOU STUPID? That's what I was yelling at her in my head, however, I said, "So you're telling me that she can't see me"? and she said yes. She didn't even go ask the Dr! I just said thanks and walked out. I was sooooo mad!

Long story short, I ended up going to a Care Now clinic and saw a Dr. He took one look in my ear and said, "Wow! That's really inflamed! You definitely have an ear infection!" Yeah, no duh! He ended up giving me 2 antibiotics and I'm now taking them and feeling a smidge better. He told me not to expect to get better fast though, because middle ear infections in adults take a long time to heal. He told me he had one that lasted a month. Thank you Mr. Dr. for that! That really makes me feel good!

So, I survived one more day of school yesterday, then we packed and drove down to Shreveport last night. Can you tell I'm ready for some rest, and relaxation! J I hope that your week and weekend is NOTHING like mine was! Happy Easter!
