Birthday updation!

Ok, you should all be glad now. The birthday post is finally here! Beware..it's going to be a long one!

Wednesday/Thursday
Bryan drove in late after he got done with practice. Thursday was our Kindergarten field trip to the Dallas Zoo. It went really well! The weather was great and we had a ton of fun.
Thursday night, we went out with Jacque and Jason to celebrate my birthday at Cheddars. Man, have I missed that place! We had a blast!
Friday~my birthday!
The day was wonderful! I got to school and my room mom, Allison and some of the other Kinder teachers had decorated my bulletin board, door way, and room with streamers and balloons! That morning some of our kinder girls went on the announcements and sang us "Happy Birthday". My kids gave me cards and gifts and Bryan was a sweetheart and brought me Chick-fil-A for lunch. That afternoon, Allison surprised me at school and brought a mini birthday cake and gifts from the kids. My kids sang me "Happy Birthday" and I opened my gifts. The kids had all written a quote of " why they love Miss Snodgrass" and drawn an illustration. Allison then made it into a book. It was precious! I loved it! I also received gift cards to Starbucks, Chili's, and the movies! Awesome day at school!

After school was out, I came home and got to open my gifts from Bryan! FINALLY! He gave me a framed picture of him (I didn't have one yet), my favorite Ghiradelli chocolates, and drum roll please....

TICKETS TO SEE RASCAL FLATTS AND TAYLOR SWIFT IN CONCERT!!!

I was soooooooo excited! Rascal Flatts is one of my favorite bands and I love Taylor Swift! My baby definitely did good! ;0)

After I opened gifts, we finished packing and then drove to West to meet my family for dinner at a new restaurant called KD's. We got to the restaurant and I walked in the back to see my family and MORGAN and CHRIS!!! Ok, first of all I have to explain the excitement. I had been a little bummed out because none of my friends were going to be able to come home/celebrate my actual birthday with me. I had invited both Chris and Morgan, but they told me they wouldn't be able to come. I was sad, but understood. Both of them called me (separately) that day to wish me a happy birthday and to say they were sorry they couldn't make it. I totally believed them! Little did I know that Bryan, my mom, Morgan and Chris had secretly been scheming behind my back to surprise me..and let me say, BOY was I surprised! That, plus being with Bryan and my family was the best gift I could have been given! We had so much fun that night at dinner. It was wonderful!

We closed out the weekend with some shopping with the girls, a Baylor baseball game, some dessert at McAlisters, church and the family birthday dinner. I can honestly say that this is one of the best birthdays that I've had in a long time. Thank you to everyone who made it so special for me! I am truly blessed to have each of you in my life!

I have posted some pictures below of the weekend. Enjoy!

just call me G.I. Jane...or G.I. Jelly

Ok, nobody kill me because I'm not doing the birthday post first, but I think this one is more important! I promise that I will update about my birthday soon :0)

One thing that I wanted for my birthday and have been wanting to do lately was to get a personal trainer at the gym where I work out...and, well, I GOT HIM! I'm so excited! I've never had one before, but I'm ready to see what's going to happen. My trainer's name is Mac, and he's a really cool guy (who always gives me high fives :0). I went in last night to get everything set up to start my training.

We were having a good conversation, talking about my sessions, what we were going to do, I'm thinking this is going to be great....

and then he told me what my goals were for the next 2 weeks and completely snuffed out all my excitement of having a personal trainer.

  • I have to drink .5 to 1 gallon of water EVERY day

  • NO fried foods

  • NO Cokes/Dr. peppers

  • NO sweets

Friends, I swear that I almost cried...especially when he let that last blow fall. I have NEVER, EVER not gone without sweets in my ENTIRE LIFE!! I would think that not having sodas is going to be hard, which it will be, don't get me wrong...but I think sweets are going to be the WORST!

I know that Mac is right when he said that it's not like I'm not going to ever have a coke or eat sweets again, but he just wants to show me what all my body can and will do when I take all of those things out of my system and work out constantly. I told Bryan that what sucks the most is that I'm not one of those people who says they're going to follow the rules, but secretly sneaks something. I'm that person who will not even go NEAR any of that stuff I'm not supposed to have and will never break one of those rules....which totally SUCKS! Man, sometimes I wish that I was more of a rebel! *sigh*

I know that at the end of these 2 weeks, all my hard work will pay off. Hopefully you won't even be able to recognize me (or at least recognize less of me ;0). I'm going to try and blog daily about my success and I hope that everyone will help keep me accountable!

So, here's to going from currently being G.I. Jelly, to G.I. Jane (or anywhere in that vicinity)!

goodbye every type of chocolate that I love...goodbye Rocky Road ice cream..goodbye Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets...goodbye Sonic strawberry limeades...and *sob*, *sob*, *sob*goodbye Dr. Pepper!! I will miss you all more than you ever know! Here's to counting down until our sweet (no puns intented) reunion in 2 weeks!

;0)

today is the day...today is my BIRTHDAY!!

Whooo hooo!! I'm so excited!

I'm just going to say that my birthday has started off quite interesting, but I'm so glad that it has.

God is in the process of refining me and has been recently for some time. He is taking my ugly mess and making it beautiful. Thank you Jesus for that!

I found this song and it's one of my all time favorites! It's definitely my "theme" song! I've posted the lyrics below for you!

"No I cannot count the ways you have made my life so blessed
All I know is that you came and made beauty of my mess"

"Happy" Ayiesha Woods

No record deal, no dream fulfilled, no three minute video
No catchy jingle, no big hit single playing on the radio

Can make me happy
Can make me feel the way you do
Can make me happy
I wanna make you happy too

No flashy cars, no movie stars, no man, woman, boy or girl
No fancy things, no diamond rings, nothing in the whole wide world

Can make me happy
Can make me feel the way you do
You make me happy
I want to make you happy too
You make me happy
You make me feel the way I do
You make me happy
I wish the whole world knew you too

No I cannot count the ways you have made my life so blessed
All I know is that you came and made beauty of my mess

And you make me happy
You make me feel the way I do
You make me happy
I want to make you happy too

*sob!*

Ok, so now I am officially the most sad person in the world! :0(

We went out to dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday with Jacque and Jason, and I was like "no big deal..I'm recording Grey's". I even double checked that it was set to record before we left.

We got home around 9:30, go to watch Grey's, we're all excited, then I push my list, search for it and......IT'S NOT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (insert a big waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)

Yes, I almost cried. Well, I don't know what else to do...I don't know what happened! I guess I'm going to try and watch it online sometime...

This has officially become the saddest moment in my life...(ok, maybe I'm being overly dramatic...but it really does rank up there!)

It's a good think my birthday is tomorrow...it will take my mind off of the incredible sadness I feel right now! :0(

So, the moral of this long, depressing, post is....if you watched it, PLEASE don't tell me what happened! You can consider it a birthday present for me! ;0) Ok, I'm done now...

I decided to make my font color gray..just like I feel :0(

It's FINALLY here!!

And no, I don't mean my birthday...that's tomorrow ;0)

Tonight is the new episode of GREY'S ANATOMY!! WHOOOO HOOOOOOO! I've been waiting for this night foooorrrrevvvvvveeeerrr!!Ok, that's it..I'm so excited! Have I mentioned that I'm excited? Ok, well that's it. Everybody watch it tonight!

early birthday week festivities!

This weekend I went to Shreveport to visit Bryan's family. Since he is coming here for my birthday on Friday, they weren't going to get to see me for my birthday, so they wanted to celebrate this past weekend.

Fast recap on the weekend (if there is such a thing):
*drove to Shreveport Friday after school
*went to the gym and hung out with Bryan and his kids
*they had a "Fun Night" where the kids hang out at the gym from like 6:30-11. They play in the *gym, play laser tag, eat pizza, and watch movies.
*Saturday I slept in while Bryan taught a morning class
*Bryan took me to lunch at McAlisters! Yummy!
*relaxed that afternoon
*went that night to a Battlewings football game with Kat and Colby, and Rachel and Marshall
*Sunday Bryan bbq'd out and the Moss' had various friends come over
*had birthday cake and opened presents
*I drove back later that night to Rockwall

I definitely got pampered this weekend (like always). After we had lunch, we had my birthday cake and I opened presents. The cake was so good, I loved my gifts, and it was all wonderful! I am so blessed to know this family! And this is only the beginning of the week! I can't wait for the rest of the week and my birthday to get here! Whoo Hoo!
me and the lovely Rachel Moss!
Bryan and I at the Battlewings football game
my Disney Princess balloons! I heart Disney Princesses! ;0)
my yummy birthday cake!

me blowing out my candles!
my sweet Vera Bradley bag they got me!
the amazing Mama Moss!
Granny!
Granny's beloved new dog, Otis!

reassurring words

This is what I found in my inbox when I returned home yesterday from my professor. It was concerning the paper that I've been KILLING myself over recently!

Chelsey,

Your profile demonstrates clarity and conceptual understanding on the complexities of assessing students. Note comments included on your draft for improvement.

Professor HG

THANK YOU JESUS!

"In God We Still Trust" Diamond Rio

The song you are about to listen to is from a Las Vegas Diamond Rio concert. They received an immediate resounding standing ovation, and continue to do so every time they perform it!

Everyone who loves America should be thrilled to hear this song!

Although Diamond Rio has never before done a statement song, they felt compelled to record 'In God We Still Trust.' But guess what? Sadly, major radio stations wouldn't play it because it was considered 'politically incorrect'. Consequently, the song was never released to the public.

So America, see what you think. If this song speaks to your heart and you feel a need to share it with friends and loved ones, please do.

Lyrics to the song are posted below!

You place your hand on His Bible, when you swear to tell the Truth
His name is on our greatest Monuments, and all our money too,
And when we Pledge allegiance, there's no doubt where we stand,
There is no separation, we're one Nation under Him.

Chorus:
In God We Still Trust
Here in America
He's the one we turn to every time
The goin' gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

Now there are those among us, who want to push Him out,
And erase His name from everything, this country's all about,
From the Schoolhouse to the Courthouse, they're Silencing His Word,
Now it's time for all Believers, to make our Voices heard.

In God We Still Trust,
Here in America
He's the one we turn to every time
The goin' gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

Here in America
Here in America
Here in America,

In God We Still Trust
Here in America,

In God We Still Trust
Here in America

blessed

I'm doing much better today..thank you to those of you who commented! Now, I'm going to brag once again on a Moss man. However, for once, it's not going to be Bryan! Haha..he's had PLENTY of posts written about him. (Sorry baby! ;0)

The Moss man that I'm going to brag on today is Bryan's dad, Mr. Bob. From the moment that I met him, I instantly liked him. He's incredibly nice and extremely welcoming. I know that he is an amazing, godly, man because of the children he has raised..and I am blessed to be dating his son. He is a wonderful father and I know he is loved and honored greatly. He's also really funny and I see so much of him in Bryan!

Mr. Bob is great at sending me e-mails just to say "hi". Mr. Bob is also great at knowing exactly when I need an encouraging e-mail. Yesterday, was one of those days. His e-mail was perfect, and couldn't come at a better time! It was so encouraging and exactly what I needed to hear. I wanted you to read one of the prayers that he found and sent me:

"Father, thank you for your reassuring word. We know that things are not nearly as bad as they could be, or even perhaps as they shall be. But we thank you for the constant assurance you give to us that even when they get worse, they are in your control. Nothing can come which you do not permit, nothing can happen which is not already anticipated and worked out. The battle is the Lord's. Thank you for the certainty that we stand in the your power and in the strength of your might, and that our hope is not in the flimsy constructions of men but in the eternal purposes of a living God. Thank you for this encouragement to our hearts today. In Christ's name, Amen."

I know that I needed to hear that prayer, and I know that some of you might also be needing it, just like I did. I hope that you will believe it, pray it, and be blessed by it.

Thank you again Mr. Bob. YOU'RE the best! :0)

Thanks David!

One of my favorite Idols, David Cook sang the song "Innocent" by Our Lady Peace this past week. I haven't heard or thought about this song in a long time, but I LOVE it! It's my new favorite.

Oh and I can't not say anything about Idol, without commenting that I'm still heartbroken about Michael Johns..that was SO wrong and Ryan is a JERK! I can't wait until Michael Johns gets a deal, because he will, and I will totally be in line to buy his c.d! Michael Johns, we love you!

Here's a video of "Innocent". The actual video was disabled by request, but if you want to watch the actual music video you can watch it
here. Lyrics are below!

Oh, Johnny wishes he was famous
Spends his time alone in the basement
With a Lennon and Cobain and
A guitar and a stereo

And while he wishes he could escape this
But it all seems so contagious
Not to be yourself and faceless
In a song that has no soul

I remember feeling low
I remember losing hope
And I remember all the feelings and the day they stopped

We are, we are all innocent
We are all innocent
We are, we are...

We are, we are all innocent
We are all innocent
We are, we are...

Oh, and Tina losing faith in what she knows
Hates her music, hates all of her clothes
Thinks of surgery and a new nose
Every calorie's a war

And while she wishes she was a dancer
And that she?d never heard of cancer
She wishes God would give her some answers
And make her feel beautiful

I remember feeling low
I remember losing hope
I remember all the feelings and the day they stopped

We are, we are all innocent
We are all innocent
We are, we are...

We are, we are all innocent
We are all innocent
We are, we are...

One day, you?ll have to let it go
You?ll have to let it go
No...
One day, you?ll stand up on your own
You?ll stand up on your own

Remember losing hope
Remember feeling low
Remember all the feelings and the day they stopped

We are, we are all innocent
We are all innocent
We are, we are...

We are, we are all innocent
We are all innocent
We are, we are...

We are (one day), we are all innocent
We are all innocent (you?ll have to let it go)
We are, we are (you?ll have to let it go, no..)

We are (one day), we are all innocent
We are, we are (you?ll stand up on your own)
We are, we are all innocent (you?ll stand up on your own..)

We are, we are all innocent

I can't believe this...

It's just so sad..I feel so bad for those children. You can read what I'm talking about here. For those of you who may not know, I graduated from ASU, which is in San Angelo. Man, what a way for San Angelo to get on the map and be noticed huh? Please pray for those babies...

For women everywhere...the summer pledge!

I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR THAT I WILL NOT BE FOUND GUILTY OF THE FOLLOWING!!!

Alright ladies, it’s that time of year once again!!! And based on this email that someone passed along to me
I think we need to be reminded of a few things. So my sisters, PLEASE, raise your big toes and repeat after me below….

The Open Toed Shoe Pledge

As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. The sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free.
I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's, if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go my local nail salon at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $20 and worth EVERY penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear...nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

DON'T keep this to yourself - pass it on to other sisters!

GOOOOOOO ME!

Well, as of recently I've been VERY unsatisfied with my physical appearance and how I look. I have been trying tons of things off and on the past few years, but nothing's worked. I finally broke down yesterday and decided that I was not going to put it off anymore.

Today I went and joined our new 24 Hour Fitness that just opened in Rockwall. I have teacher friends that have been wanting me to go with them, but I've just been putting it off because I've been busy (um..Bryan). I finally just decided to do it yesterday! This afternoon I went in and had my personal fitness evaluation with this guy named Mac. He was really cool, very funny, and we just talked about my goals, where I wanted to get and what I needed to do to get there. He also suggested hiring him as a personal trainer. I know in the past, I've been like "yeah, yeah" they're just in it for the money. However, as we talked about it, I realized how much he could help me get my results and push me when I probably want to give up. I'm not sold on the idea yet, but I'm going to decide by the end of this week. A major thing I'm going to have to do is see if I can come up with the money for it. If not, well then I guess the decision will be easier than I thought! I just really liked that he didn't seem out to "get my money" but honestly wanted to help me get in shape and achieve my goals.

After I went to 24 Hour Fitness, I came home and just went for a 30 minute walk. It was SO beautiful outside, and I had my music today. It was just such an amazing afternoon. The weather, my attitude, everything. I was able to enjoy what I was doing...not feeling like I "had to run faster to loose the weight..etc". I just turned on my praise music and had my own worship with God outside! It was awesome! *Shaunna, I thought of your story at the track, when you were singing the other day. Well, this afternoon I was just walking with my hands lifted, praising God! Haha..and I was right beside a major road with tons of cars passing me. They probably thought I was a lunatic, but I didn't care! ;0)

Overall, yesterday wasn't a good day, but today was! My two room moms also came to school today and took my class for a little while so I could have a longer lunch. I went and signed up and went tanning then went and had lunch. It was so nice to have a break during the day and come back refreshed! Praise God for amazing room moms!

Well, that's about it folks! Hope you have a great evening and a great day tomorrow!

since I got the ok...

this is what Bryan wrote:

note on the mirror in the bathroom:
Chels,
Always love seeing you! I miss you already. I hope you have a great week. You are so amazing and I can't wait to see you again. I am always praying for you and us.
Your blessed boyfriend,
Bryan

note on the bed with the flowers and candy:
Because a girl can not have too many flowers, I got you these.
Because I was sick and could not kiss you, I got you these.
Because you are amazing, I give you my best.
I thank God every day for his faithfulness.

Bryan

yes, you should be jealous! ;0)

I know you're probably sick and tired of hearing me talk about how amazing Bryan is, but all I'm gonna say is sorry Charlie! I'm sure he's not going to stop being amazing any time soon, so you might as well get used to it! ;0) See below for example of reason #402, 503,085 of how he was amazing!

He drove in to see me Thursday evening and had to leave Sat morning to drive to Baton Rouge for a gymnastic meet. That morning I also had to work at the Rockwall ISD job fair from 9-12, so we said our goodbyes, and I left.

When I came home that afternoon, this is what I found when I walked in my room.

First of all, he made my bed for me (so sweet!) and then placed a dozen roses, a bag of Hershey's chocolate kisses, and a note on my pillows. I don't know if he'll want me telling ya'll what the note said, so I'm going to play it safe and not post it now. However, if I get the ok, I'll add it later! I'll just say that it was SO sweet and romantic! :0) After I got over that surprise, I went into the bathroom and this is what I saw.

ANOTHER sweet note posted on my mirror! Seriously, do I have the best boyfriend or what?! :0) Oh, and that question is definitely rhetorical! Here's a picture of my roses after I put them into a vase. Beautimous..that's all I'm going to say. Bryan continues to surprise me everyday..in more ways than one. He's just....precious. :0)

Thanks Cass!

Cass wrote this post, so I definitely had to check it out! It's SO cool! If you want to see what it's about, go here! Check out my most used words! ;0)

one more time..

ok guys, try this one..I changed it to the same one that I used for Bryan and mine's count up

let me know if you can see it now!

Check it from home

Since several of you have commented about my birthday countown thingy, I thought I'd post and answer everyone. I think that if you are viewing my blog at work, that it's not going to come up/work, for some reason. It does the same thing to me when I view it at school. However, if you check it from home, it will. I'm not guaranteeing it, but it works for me. I know that Bryan also checks it at home, and he's able to see it. If that doesn't work..well, I don't know what else to tell you! Hope that helps! I know you're all very anxious to be aware of when my birthday is ;0) Haha...

Tuesday, April 1, 2008

Ahhh yes..

I am wearing a huge smile on my face right now. Why, you ask? Well, because today is APRIL! As you hopefully all know by now, April is my birthday month! The 25th, to be exact. Ahh, this makes me so happy. I love birthdays..and especially my own! ;0) I believe that the day a person came into this world should be celebrated in full force. Oh, and don't worry, all my kids have memorized my birthday! Hehe..oh and if anyone happens to forget, I have graciously added a birthday countdown for you! :0) The official countdown begins!
