It's a...

BOY!!! Yes, we found out this week that Bryan's brother Jason, and his wife Whitney are expecting a little boy! That was our early Christmas gift! :0) Ya'll should have seen how excited Bryan was after he got off the phone with Jason. He was going around yelling, "It's a BOY!!" and "Moss' don't have girls!" I kept telling him to shut up or God was going to prove him wrong, and I want a boy dangit! ;0)

Bryan wanted to immediately go out and buy our nephew his first baseball glove! I made him a deal that he could buy the glove if I got to buy a cute outfit! :0) We're really excited if you can't tell!

Baby boy Moss should be here mid May, and we can't wait! What a great Christmas gift!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!

Well, I'm glad to report that Bryan and I officially have started our holiday adventures! :0) Bryan drove to Rockwall on Friday after I got out of school and we officially kicked off our Christmas break! Unfortunately though, we had to start it at the Dr.'s office!

All week long I've been battling a throat issue. It wasn't my throat that was hurting, but my right tonsil, or so I thought. I tried everything, but by Friday I couldn't take it anymore. It also made me really mad, because I've been trying to get a hold of my regular Dr. all week, and wasn't able to. I literally called and called all these different numbers, different times a day, left messages, and
never heard anything! I finally decided to skip my Dr.'s office and headed to the clinic instead. I'm happy to report that I got right in, they were so nice, and took great care of me! They did test me for strep, but thank goodness the test came back negative. They said that nothing was wrong with my tonsils, but it was actually my lymph nodes that were swollen. The Dr. ended up giving me some medicine that knocked me out, but made the pain go away!

I kept taking it on Saturday and it REALLY knocked me out, so most of the day on Saturday I slept. Poor Bryan was by himself most of the time, but he did a great job of taking care of me! He cleaned my kitchen, did dishes, hung up my huge pile of clean clothes, wrapped presents, and much more. He is so good to me! He's going to make an amazing husband...but then, that is why I'm marrying him! ;0) We did however, make time to have our Christmas, just the two of us! :0) Here are a few pictures of our first Christmas, opening gifts!

Bryan suprised me with a key to turn on the gas to my fireplace. For some reason one didn't come with my house, so he got one so we could enjoy a nice, romantic, fire! :0)

my handsome fiance' opening his gifts!
my turn!
my new jewelry box I've been wanting~accompanied with pictures of us on the top!
Christmas Story boxers! It's one of his favorite Christmas movies and he's always quoting it.. a new gift for the BBQ!
my new IPOD!! I was soooooo excited!!! And it's PINK!!!!
a handsome new shirt and tie for my baby!

the James Avery cross necklace he's been wanting!

Sunday morning, we got up and went to church, went to Walmart to get some groceries for dinner that night, and then I came home and took a nap! We then spent the rest of the afternoon & evening wrapping tons of presents! I thought our wrapping would never end! But it did!

We got everything loaded up on Monday and then traveled down to my parent's house in Lorena. We celebrated my family's Christmas today and had lots of fun! We're going to my grandparent's house tomorrow night for Christmas Eve/Day and then I'll be on my way Friday to Shreveport for Christmas with Bryan's family! I'm so excited!

Well, I'm signing off for tonight! I'll post lots more pictures later on this week when I can! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, celebrating with your friends and family!

Merry Christmas!!!

true love

  • True love is your fiance' waking up at 5:30 a.m. in the morning and driving 2.5 hours to see you.
  • True love is him doing this after he's returned home the night before at 2:30 a.m, because he's had a gymnastics meet that weekend and had to drive 3 hours home late last night.
  • True love is him only having 3 hours of sleep when he drove to come see you this morning.
  • True love is him driving 2.5 hours in the early morning in order to spend the day with you and then driving 2.5 hours back that night.
  • True love is him not being able to be apart from you for one more minute, even though you're going to see each other the coming Friday.
  • True love is him telling you that you're completely worth every part of it, and that he would have driven 10 hours just to be with you for one day.
  • True love is what I have with Bryan Mitchell Moss..and I couldn't be more happier than I am right now! :0)

I love you baby! Thank you SO much for driving to see me today! I know how tired you were, and it meant a lot to me. I had such a wonderful day and am counting down the seconds until I'm with you again. I love you more than life!

Love the Future Mrs. Bryan Moss!!

P.S. Keep reading for more new posts!

bad boys, bad boys..whatcha gonna do..whatcha gonna do when they come for you?!

So, for the past 2 weeks, I have had this random Ford F250 parked RIGHT in front of my house.

When I went home to my parents for Thanksgiving, it wasn't there. When I came back that Sunday it was there. I really didn't think anything of it, because my neighbors have parties sometimes and lots of random people park in front of my house. However, by the next day, they're all gone-EXCEPT for this truck. I thought that was kinda weird, but was like, "well, I bet it'll be gone by the time I go to school." Well, when I got home that day, it still was there. This continued over the next few days. I never saw anyone come near it, and it NEVER left. In the beginning, it made me very uneasy having it there, and not knowing who's it was, or the story on it. However, as the days passed by, it just began to make me mad! I wanted this truck GONE!

I talked to Bryan about it, and asked him if I should call the police and if they could do anything about it. He said I could call, but he didn't know if they would do anything, because the truck was parked legally. So, I didn't end up calling, and the days passed by.

Bryan saw the truck today and asked if I called the police yet, and I told him no, to which he told me to call them TONIGHT! I said ok, so after he left, I called the police with all the information about the truck. The lady I spoke to was very helpful, and said she'd send someone over right away. I wasn't expecting that she would actually send someone to my house, but I was like ok! So about 10 minutes later, an officer rang my doorbell and got my story/information about the truck. I told him when I first noticed the it there and that it hadn't ever been moved. Then he said, "Well, I'm really glad you called ma'am because that truck is STOLEN!!!"

YEP, he said stolen! Can you believe that?!! I couldn't! No wonder it hadn't moved! Haha..So long story short, the officer said he would take care of the truck and he had a tow truck on it's way to tow the truck.

I am now SO happy to report that the truck is G-O-N-E!!! Whoo hoo! I'm so relieved. Bryan also mentioned something I didn't even think about tonight. He said, "Yeah, imagine how happy the people who's truck that is are going to be when they find out their truck's been found!" I didn't even think about that..I can't imagine how I would feel if my vehicle was stolen.

Well, it's over with now, and all's well that end's well! Now, I just hope they find whoever stole the truck! You better watch out bad boys..bad boys.. whatcha gonna do..whatcha gonna do when they come for you?!

Priceless

reprimanded

This evening I went and got a pedicure (as instructed my by honey.....thanks babe! :0) and while I was there, decided to get a much needed eyebrow waxing. The lady who did my waxing, went and got all the stuff and then came to wax my eyebrows. When she got close, she started looking at my eyebrows and then started muttering under her breath in Chinese. I have no idea what she was saying, but it was NOT good.

She then started talking to me and pointing to my eyebrows. I was obviously confused, so she grabbed a mirror, and gave it to me, motioning that I was supposed to look at my eyebrows. She said, "Oh look..what you do. You pluck too much on this one. This one is pretty eyebrow, but this one no."

After looking SUPER close, I noticed what she was talking about. Evidently, I decided to pluck one small area at the beginning of my eyebrow a little too much (which in my defense I don't remember..maybe a few stray hairs, but not a whole section!). She said, "You no pluck. Come see me, but no pluck!" Hahaha..I said, "ok, I see now. I see."

So she waxed my eybrows, and finished to her liking, before telling me that, "it be ok...it will grow. No more pluck! You like?!" Hahaha..

I got reprimanded by my nail lady. I totally felt about 2 yrs old. It didn't help when all of the other nail people noticed my uneven eyebrows that the lady pointed out to EVERYONE and got these "tsk..tsk..shame on you..how dare you pluck your eyebrows" look.

Well believe me, now I know!

i wonder

when I will actually remember myself, that my new web url is www.mossmoments.blogspot.com instead of www.chelseysnodgrass.blogspot.com and actually REMEMBER this fact when I enter the address in. I'm pretty sure I've forgotten it about 85 times. Oh the cons of changing the url that you've gotten used to entering in over the past year and a half.

Thanksgiving '08!

Thanksgiving day was spent in Brady at my grandparent's house. We ate lots of yummy food, and spent time walking around the dairy and petting the horses! We drove back to Lorena that night.

On Friday morning, my sister Charity and I braved the crowds and did our Black Friday shopping. It actually wasn't as bad as I expected it to be! We were out from 7:00-5:30! We definitely made a day of it and got some great bargains! Bryan drove in from Shreveport that night and then joined us as we drove to Comanche the next day.

Saturday was spent having Thanksgiving #2 with my mom's side of the family at Uncle Kinley's. We had more yummy food, I got to introduce Bryan to my mom's side of the family, and then Uncle Kinley took us around on a tour of his pecan farm. Bryan loved it! :0)

We had a great Thanksgiving holiday! Now, check out some pictures of our adventures below!

back to blogging!

Well, I must apologize for my absence from the blogging world as of lately! I'm been swamped with final projects for my fall grad class. Last week I did an activity with my class, and I literally worked all day with my kids, and then worked all afternoon/night at school. I've been working so hard because I went to Shreveport this weekend, and I wanted to get everything finished by Thursday. I just knew I wouldn't enjoy my weekend as much if I knew I had to come back and finish all this crap! So, long story short, I finished my project at school at 11:15 PM on Thursday night. Yep, I was about dead after it all but so nice to know that I was D-O-N-E! I left Friday and went to Shreveport and had a wonderful weekend! :0)

Instead of doing a REALLY long post full of updates, I've decided to make lots of little ones, so keep reading.

REMINDER: I am changing my blog url tonight, so make sure you change it as well! http://www.mossmoments.blogspot.com/

I'm still here...I promise!

I'm just trying to "keep my head above water" right now. :0) I'm swamped with my grad school final project, and of course I waited until the end to get it done. Yeah, maybe not such a bright idea.

Anyways, I promise after this weekend, I'll post, WITH pictures! ;0)

Pray for me!

post of pictures!

Lorena answers bell with playoff victory, 24-14

Not much to say with this post, only that I'm probably the most proud sister/daughter in the whole wide world right now! :0) I'll let the pictures tell the story, but if you'd like to read more, check out the full story here at the Waco Trib.

the beauty that they won! It's been 19 years since we've taken home one of these puppies..
yep, that's my brother, #44, one of the captains strutting his stuff ;0)

this is probably one of my favorite pictures
catch him if you can!
a BEAST! :0)
FINAL SCORE= LEOPARD DOMINATION!!

The boys play again this Friday night at 8:00 p.m in Mansfield against Carthage. We can't WAIT!!!

I'm back!

Well, I guess I never really "went" anywhere, but I am no longer private! I've been thinking about it for a while, but couldn't make a final decision. Meredith helped by giving me that extra push by deciding also not to be private anymore! I just decided that the reasons that I went private in the first place, aren't really there anymore. Plus, honestly, I don't talk about school at all, and there's sure not anything on there that anybody could fault me for writing, so non-private we are! More than likely, all anybody is going to be reading about right now is my brother's football games, and my upcoming wedding. The most anyone is going to get my reading my blog is how much I love Bryan Moss~and I'm perfectly fine with that!

I'm actually glad to not be private anymore for the reasons listed below:
  • I hated signing in.
  • I hated that ya'll had to sign in.
  • I hated that it didn't show ya'll when I updated.
  • I hated knowing that some of you would just forget to check my blog, therefore, missing out on some good posts.
  • I hated it that some of you didn't send me your e-mail so I couldn't add you to the list, and you had no way of knowing how to reach me.
  • I hated signing in.
  • I hated that I felt so scared about people reading what I wrote that I had to go private.
  • I hated signing in.

With that said, I am very happy to now not be private anymore! I figure, if it becomes a problem again, I'll just go back to being private!

PLEASE NOTE! Although I'm very happy to not be private anymore, I will be changing my URL address. I just don't like that fact that when you enter my name into a web search, my blog is the first thing that comes up! So, please make note that this will be my new address so you can change it on your blogs.

http://www.mossmoments.com/

I figured that I was going to change it when I got married, so I'd just go ahead and change it now! I'll give ya'll a few days until I officially change it!

Well, I guess that's it for now! Now, I expect all of you to leave me lots of comments! ;0)

Love,
The future Mrs. Bryan Moss :0)

Lorena knocks off La Vega, 20-13, claims playoff berth

Yep, folks, you heard it right! The Lorena Leopards are playoff bound! We are soooooooooo excited! We've been praying and working hard for this for a V-E-R-Y long time! I will admit that I'm completely biased, but I'm pretty sure that my brothers are the best out there! ;0) I'm so proud of both of them! The game is this coming Thursday, so I'll be taking off Friday, in order to go cheer on my Leopards! P.S. #44 is my brother Chase in the picture above.

In other news, Bryan and I had another amazing weekend together! We got to go out to dinner with Jacque and Jason on Friday night and catch up. I don't think we've done that much laughing in a long time! On Saturday Bryan and I got to go and babysit some of my friends kids, who are PRECIOUS! We had such a fun day! This morning we went to church, had a yummy lunch at Johnny Corino's, then spent the afternoon walking the trails at Harry Meyer's Park. This was the first time we'd been to the park and we LOVED it! It was so beautiful, and was perfect weather! Bryan left to go back tonight, so that was sad, but overall it was such a great weekend!

Some other things I've forgotten to update ya'll on are:
  • this past Friday we had our first successful Kindergarten field trip to the fire station, library, and then ended with a picnic lunch at the park! It was an exhausting day, but we had fun!
  • A few weeks ago, Bryan and I had our first pre-marital counseling session with the head counselor at FBC Dallas. It went really well, and we're going to continue our sessions at their church! Bryan also got to see the chapel for the first time, and fell in love with it just as much as I did! He said it was perfect and we both said there's NOTHING we'd change about anything!

This week Bryan and I will celebrate our 8 month anniversary! I honestly can't believe that it's been that long. At some times, it seems like it was just yesterday that we met, and at other times it feels like we've been married forever. I know we both wish we'd been married forever! Haha.

Well, I do believe that is about all for now. If you're still reading all of this, props to you! ;0) Adios..

where I was..

1 minute ago: finishing up my journal for class

1 day ago: spending an amazing day babysitting with Bryan :0)

1 month ago: I was about to get engaged!

5 years ago: I was in my sophomore year of college, joined my sorority Sigma Phi Lambda where I met some of my best friends, and met godly women who changed my life! I also entered into my first serious relationship, where I had my first official boyfriend.

7 years ago: I was a junior in high school~I spent most of the time with my best friend Kyrbie, having sleepovers, going to football games, and obsessing about boys. I started working at McAlister's Deli!

10 years ago: I lived in Elgin, Tx. At this time, I "thought" I was in love, with a boy named Brian. He was a big part of my life during this time. Funny that the guy that I talked about in the 5 year section, was Brian's best friend. Ironically, I'm marrying a Bryan, and he puts both of them to shame! Love you baby! My family moved to Lorena, TX that year and have been there ever since. I also entered public school for the very first time as a freshman.

I tag: Amanda, Amy, Susan, and Shaunna!

ideas anyone?

Well, I've been trying to research as much as possible and I'm needing to find some websites that you'd recommend for:

  1. hairstyles
  2. wedding dresses
  3. bridesmaid dresses

Any ideas you have, I'd love to hear them! I loved Tyly's idea of looking at places like Target online for bridesmaid dresses. I really loved the $30 especially! I definitely want to keep them as cheap as possible. I looked at Target online and loved some of the dresses, but I couldn't find them in my color. Oh, yeah, have I mentioned what my color is? Well, it's PINK! I'm not exactly sure what else, or if anything else, but I'm probably going to do a couple of different shades of pink. I don't want it to look like pink threw up everywhere, and I'm definitely not the type of bride where EVERY, SINGLE, THING has to be pink. I just want a nice balance! :0)

Ok people, let me hear your ideas! :0) By the way, only 235 more days to go!!!!

oh blah

I have a bad case of the posting blahs. I have nothing to post about..or too much to post about but I don't want to do it. All I have is random tidbits...I guess that's better than nothing.

  • I loved One Tree Hill last night (that I watched tonight). It made me laugh out loud..
  • I had a yummy Chick-fil-A dinner tonight, along with a yummy Dr. Pepper
  • I finished all but 2 of my parent conferences today
  • I started the new part of my grad school class with my new professor..she's ok..she makes us do stuff though..I don't think I like that.
  • Last night I left my candle burning at my house..for 4 hours while I was at class.
  • Thank God my house didn't burn down.
  • I can't find my sunglasses.
  • This really irritates me.
  • Bryan bought be a beautiful new winter coat.
  • I love that it's been cold enough the past two days that I could wear it.
  • I love him.
  • Bryan and I are taking off school on Friday to meet with the counselor for our wedding.
  • I'm tired.
  • Some people are a lot different than you think they are. No matter how much you try not to, we all end up judging people...and most of the time, we judge them wrongly.
  • I put up a new wedding countdown. All you people need to make sure you count down with me!
  • I love Bryan Mitchell Moss.
  • This week I've heard about friends, or had family members who had vehicles vandalized all during this week. Seriously, who does stuff like that?
  • Jacque made me laugh..really hard today!
  • Gas at Walmart tonight was $2.16
  • Hopefully when I go get gas tomorrow, it will be even cheaper!
  • I'm going to go to bed now
  • Goodnight!

wedding photographer,CHECK!!

We officially have a wedding photographer now! Whoo hoo! What I have failed to mention, is that several months ago, Bryan and I already booked a photographer from Waco. I'd had several friends that used her, seen some of her work, and loved it! Well this was back when I thought our date was June 20th INSTEAD of June 27th. So..fast forward to us getting the church and me having to change the date. I contacted our photographer to tell her about the date switch, but I then looked at her online calendar and saw that June 27th was BOOKED. I'm pretty sure my heart stopped. I freaked out slightly..however, I got over it, told myself it would be ok, and started the hunt for a new photographer (P.S. our old one was really nice and gave us our deposit back since it was so early and she couldn't do our date..praise Jesus!).

I researched for HOURS online on The Knot, talked to friends, family, anyone I knew, and got tons of recommendations. After a significant amount of research, I narrowed it down to
Fairy Tale Photography. I loved the website and I loved the prices! I discussed with Bryan, my family, and my matrons of honor ;0) and we figured out the perfect solutions at the perfect price! What was so awesome was that I actually got the new phototographer for a cheaper price! Jacque and I went tonight to meet my new photographer, Austin, and talk about what we wanted for my wedding. We had a great time and J and I really liked him. We were on the same page and he said he was really excited to shoot our wedding! I'm just so glad this part is over! Now on to more fun stuff! Make sure you click on the link and check our their pictures!

Thanks Emily!!!

Here's one of the things that made my day today!

Emily, one of the girls that my mom taught with in Lorena just got married a year ago, so my mom put us in touch with each other when I was thinking about getting married in Waco. My mom had also been keeping her updated with me and Bryan! Emily was great about giving me lots of information about her wedding and really helped me out! It turns out that Emily's husband just got a job in the Dallas area, so they moved here. Emily e-mailed me asking about information on how I found my house, because they were looking for one. I e-mailed her all my information, and they ended up finding a house! Emily e-mailed me and told me they found one and then asked for my address. I thought she might mail me a thank you card or something but THIS is what I found when I checked my mail today!
It's the Bride's Thank You Note Handbook and the cutest card ever! AND Emily made it herself!
That package totally made my day and I'm so excited about my first gift! I can't wait to use it!

new wedding news!

Well, I decided that I should probably write a new post, since I haven't written in a week. However, in my defense, I've been waiting F-O-R-E-V-E-R to put that post up, so I just wanted us all to savor reading it! :0) Hehe..

However, I guess we should move on to more exciting things now, such as WEDDING PLANNING! Whoo hoo!

I will confess to the blog world that actually Bryan and I have been talking about getting married since this summer. He asked my dad's permission to marry me on September 20th, so I knew he was going to be proposing sometime soon! I didn't know when exactly, but I had my theories! He did a wonderful job of surprising me though! I just didn't want to actually say that I'd been researching/planning stuff until he ACTUALLY proposed. Now, that it's official ;0) I can talk my little heart out! Hehe.. I will warn you that my wedding (I love saying that) and my fiance' (I love saying that too!) will more than likely be all that I talk about from now on. There, now you've been warned! :0)

On to more exciting things, we have officially chosen the date!!! We will be getting married on June 27, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. It's always been my dream to be a June bride, so we knew it was going to be June. However, I wanted the 20th originally, and Bryan wanted the 27th. The date actually came down to the availablity of our church, so the 27th it was! We are going to be getting married at Heritage Chaple, at the First Baptist Church of Dallas. It is GORGEOUS! I love, love, love everything about it! You have to go here and check out their blog. I loved that they had a blog! There are all sorts of pictures on there, so check them out! It was actually a complete miracle that I even got the chapel. When I researched churches in the area, I came upon their website and then went to look at the blog. I fell in love with it, so I contacted Meghan Mazolla about the chapel for the 20th or 27th. She said that it was already booked on the 20th, and she was waiting to get the paperwork back from another bride who already reserved the 27th. I of course was so sad, but she said to check back in a week or so because there was always the chance that the bride would change her mind.

About a week later, I e-mailed Meghan to ask if that bride turned her paperwork in, but I didn't hear back from her, so I just gave up. Fast forward to me getting engaged, then me telling everyone at school (that was a lot of fun!). I talked to a coworker and she suggested some other churches to research, so I did. I found a prospective church that looked pretty on their website, so I called and set up an appointment to tour the church this past Wednesday. That same day, I e-mailed Meghan one last time just to make sure. You'll imagine my emense happiness when she e-mailed back with great news and said that that bride had chosen the 2:00 in the santuary, so the chapel was available for the evening of the 27th!!!! Praise Jesus! I immediately set up a time to tour the chapel on Wednesday. I went to the other church and toured it Tuesday evening, and I liked it, but didn't LOVE it. That one was my plan B church! I went Wednesday to FBC Dallas (and got lost on the way..stupid exits!), met Meghan, LOVED the church, and immediately signed the papers to reserve my date!! So that's the long story of how I got my church that I'm so in love with! :0)

I'll update more details later! I was browsing through all my posts and found this one. Who would have known back then that we'd be here now! I didn't then, but God did! Thank you Jesus!

We're ENGAGED!!

Well, it's the post you've ALL been waiting, asking, and anticipating for!!! I'm glad to announce that Bryan officially asked me to be his wife last night, on October 10, 2008! Of course I said YES!

One of my best friends Jacque had called me the week before and said that we needed to go out on Friday night and have a girl’s night out. I was excited because we haven’t had a girl’s night out in forever, so I said sure and let her set everything up. Jacque told me that she wanted to go get manicures and pedicures and that a friend that she teaches with had suggested a new restaurant in Dallas that we should go try. Little did I know, Jacque was in complete cahoots with Bryan and a big part of distracting me from figuring out the proposal!

Moving on, Jacque came over to my house, we got ready and headed off to the salon. We had so much fun and we’re having a great “girl’s night”. When it was time to pay, Jacque looked in her purse and told me that she had forgotten her wallet. I told her that I thought I saw it on the floor when we left so she was like “oh man, well we’ll have to go back to your house and get it!” During this time, I thought that it was very funny that her husband Jason kept calling and texting her asking where she was and what she was doing. I admit that I was teasing her about it and telling her to call and tell Jason to leave us alone on our girl’s night out!

We finished up at the salon, and then headed back to my house to get Jacque’s wallet. She called Jason so I decided to call and say hi to Bryan. We talked to him on the phone for a while and then she told him, “I’m turning at the light now, so you have to get off and let us officially get back to our girl’s night.” We got to my house and I told Jacque I’d run in and get her wallet, so she could stay in the truck. I got out, but she got out too, so I was like whatever. I walked into my garage and opened the garage door and it hit me. I saw that my laundry room door was closed (which I NEVER close it) and then I smelled candles.

I opened the door and in my living room, I saw Bryan standing there. He had moved all of my living room furniture out of the living room and made an isle of roses and rose petals were everywhere. Hundreds of candles lit the room as he played Keith Urban’s “Your Everything”. I saw my other best friend Morgan, in the background taking pictures. I walked up and started kissing Bryan. He then sat me down in my kitchen chairs and told me that since I always complain that he never gives me any cards, so he got me these. He had me open four cards one by one. He said the first card he wanted to give me after we first met. The second card was the one he wanted to give me on my birthday. The third card was the one that he wanted to give me after he told me he loved me for the first time, and the last card was the card he wanted to give me today. After I opened and read all the cards, he took my hand and said let’s take this ring off (my cross ring that my parents gave me when I was 16, basically my purity ring). He then said, “Chelsey, I can promise you two things. One, that I will always love you. Two, that I will love you like Christ loved the church. I will be the servant of our household, putting you and our family first. He then reached behind him and pulled the ring box off of the book shelf. He stood up and then got down on one knee, took my hand, and said as he opened the ring box, “Chelsey Snodgrass, will you marry me?” I said, “well, let me think about it….haha..just kidding! I said YES! He put the ring on my finger and we just started kissing some more while Morgan was in the background snapping pictures of us! I then started talking to Morgan and then I asked Bryan where Jacque was. He said, “Well let’s go into your bedroom and see who else is there”. We went and he opened the door to my bedroom, and then I saw Jacque and Jason (Jacque’s husband), Chris (my best guy friend from high school and Morgan’s boyfriend), and KYRBIE (my best friend from high school)! It was really funny because I didn’t cry at all when Bryan proposed to me, but the moment I saw Kyrbie I started bawling! I just knew how much preparation had gone into the whole proposal and the fact that she drove almost 5 hours meant so much to me! We all stood around talking about our stories and hearing about how everyone had been involved for so long. Bryan told Morgan first (she’s been Bryan’s best friend for about 19 yrs and was the one who introduced us!) and then started planning the proposal and involving all of my friends over a month ago! We ended the night by eating with the friends at Texas Roadhouse and calling our families!

It was the best night of my life! I am so blessed to have found and be marrying the man God made for me. He truly is my soul mate and I love him more than life! I am equally blessed that God gave me such amazing friends who love me so much! I can’t tell you all thank you enough for making my night so amazing. I love you all so much!

Don't worry, Morgan took 400 pictures last night, so I'll be putting some of those up when I get them. Or check on Facebook soon! Love you guys!

Oh yeah, I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmm..

Right now, I'm sitting in bed, still in my pajamas. Why, you ask? Well because it's FAIR DAY! Whoo hoo! Instead of going to the fair (I'm waiting for Bryan), I'm being lazy at home today. Yes, that's right, instead of being at school/work, slaving away like all you other teachers/working people, I'm enjoying my day off! Not, that I'm gloating or anything..Bryan. I need to decide what I'm going to do today...hmm..play on my blog, go get my nails done, watch a movie..hmmm. So many decisions! :0)

weekend review

If you haven't read the post below, skip ahead and read that one first!

This post will be a more happy post, since the other one was depressing..haha! Plus, this one is just a catch up one on my weekend and I spent it with the love of my life, so how could it not be happy?! :0)

I figured I am over due on a nice, sappy, lovey dovey, post about Bryan and I, so I'll write a quick one for all you crazed Bryan and Chelsey fanatics! ;0)

I drove down to Shrevport this weekend to spend it with Bryan and we had a great weeekend. On the drive down after school, I got to catch up with my bestie, Kyrbie, so that was great! After I arrived at Bryan's apartment, he took me out to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse. We enjoyed a super, yummy, dinner, and then went to..Walmart. Yep, folks, it doesn't get more romantic than that! Haha.. We know, we're officially and old couple! It's ok though. That's one of the things that I love about us though...that it doesn't matter whether we're doing something fancy, or going shopping at Walmart, I'm having the time of my life with him by my side!

Saturday was spent relaxing and being lazy. We lounged around and watched t.v, then went to dinner at Olive Garden and then I dragged him to see "Nights in Rodanthe". I liked it~I've read the book, but forgot how sad it was! It was good, but not as good as "The Notebook"!

Today we went to church and then met his parents for lunch at McAlister's! Yum, yum! Mama Moss also had a surprise for me when we got there, a red daisy potted plant, and a cute little pumpkin! I loved them! We had a great time catching up and sharing some laughs.

Overall, it was a great weekend and I was sad to see it end; but alas, the new week has to begin. I'm just glad when I can count down the days until I'm in his arms again. I've never been this happy or felt more loved than when I'm with him. It's like I know what my purpose is..it's to be with Bryan, loving him for the rest of my life. I fall more in love with that man each and every day.

Bryan know that,

" If distance were measured in terms of the heart we'd never be more than a minute apart."

I love you!

private

Well folks, I finally did it..I went private! If you're reading this, that means that you received my invitation and have successfully logged in to read my blog, so congrats! I apologize that you had to log in, and I know it's a hassle. However, after everything with Cassandra, I got scared. As Mama Moss would say, "it scared the stew outta me!"
I decided to go private because of things that have happened to me during the beginning of this school year. I can't go into details, but my teaching methods have been put under the microscope by a parent(s) and administration was called in...all without my knowledge. My reputation as a teacher has been questioned and I know that everything I do is being watched, compared, and contrasted with other teachers. I feel like I'm being stalked..in the classroom.

Thank goodness that my principal defended me, and I KNOW I never did anything wrong, but it still hurts. Anybody who knows me, knows that I love my job and my students more than anything. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, and I know there's no other job that I will ever do. I can tell you success stories out the wazoo, and post letters parents have written about how great of a teacher I am and how I changed their child's life. However, it's funny how one parent, or one situation can make you forget all your successes.

I know that this is just one hitch in the road, and I WILL not allow what has happened to shape the rest of my school year. I know that this parent can do NOTHING to me...because God knows even the number of hairs on my hand and He has inscribed me in the palm of His hand. My God will let no harm come to me and is my protector and provider! I know that this situation will only make me stronger and make me a better teacher!

It's a bittersweet thing for me to do (going private). Part of me hates the hassle that it means for all of my blog friends...and for any other stranger who wants to read my blog in the future, but won't be able to. However, the other part of me feels free. Free to write whatever I want, and know exactly who's reading it. Free to talk about whatever I want to concerning school, and know that nobody will find out about it. But will I? Probably not..even though I'm now private, I'm still going to cover my butt. Nobody is ever going to threaten to take away my job because of my blog. I can't imagine what Cassandra felt like, but I know I don't want to ever be put in the situation that she was.

Ok, I know this has been a depressing post, but now you know why I went private! Thank you fellow readers for being so faithful! You are the reason I write..and will continue to do so! :0)

the only good thing about my week

is the fact that GREY'S ANATOMY COMES ON TOMORROW! That totally has already made my day tomorrow and it's not even here yet. I think I've had the crappiest week ever. More details to come later. Thank God for Thursday nights! :0)

fear not blog stalkers!

I, Chelsey Snodgrass, am not afraid to admit that I am among the MANY who daily stalk other people's blogs! Most of the time we thumb through our friends blog roll and then click on their friends, and their friends, etc. I, for one, think that there is nothing wrong with doing this! :0) I'm reading so many peoples blogs right now and loving it..and they have no idea who I am! So, if you are one of those fellow friends who stalk my blog and I don't know you, that's FINE! I don't care at all! I'm just glad you keep coming back! :0) Just send me your e-mail and I'll add you to my list! Thanks to those who've already contacted me~ you've been added! So again, if you read my blog and I don't know you from Adam, that's no biggie..just send me your e-mail and you'll be good to go!

jumping on the bandwagon :0(

Well I'm pretty sure that Cassandra's blog situation has all of us teachers creeped out..:0( So I'm jumping on the bandwagon and also going private. :0( This is really sad..but I've been thinking about doing it for a while. I know I have to watch what I say concerning work, but I also have to protect myself as much as I can, so private I go. You know the drill...send me your e-mail so I can add you to the list! If you don't want to post your e-mail on my blog, then just e-mail it to me at chelsey1852@yahoo.com. Have I mentioned that this sucks?

Hopes and Dreams

My school is doing something new this year with the kids and teachers. We're all answering simple questions about ourselves and then sharing one of our hopes for the year and one of our dreams we have. I thought it was pretty neat and a good way to get to know your co-workers and your students! I took a picture of mine and posted it in case some of you would like to do the same, or just like to see mine! I thought it was pretty cute if I do say so myself! ;0)

6 months!!!!

Bryan just left so I'm all sad now! :0( But instead of being all sad, I thought I'd write a happy post! This weekend Bryan drove in from Shreveport and on Friday we celebrated our 6 month anniversary! Whoo Hoo! I can't believe that it has been 6 months, but it has! We decided that we just wanted to have a nice, quiet, night in, instead of going out. I decided to cook dinner while poor Bryan tackled the jungle in my backyard. He got everything done and then we enjoyed a nice, candlelit dinner! It was really good, if I do say so myself! ;0) It was a great night! Bryan told me that I couldn't put up an old picture with a new one and compare what we looked like..haha...so I just found one of our favorite pictures!

The rest of the weekend was really good. We met up with our best friend (who introduced us) Morgan and had lunch at McAlister's Deli, then went and did some shopping. Then we went and did more shopping and met up with Jacque and Jason that night. This morning we enjoyed a great sermon at church, had lunch, and then relaxed this afternoon. Why is it that time flies when you're having fun and suddenly it's already Monday?! Sheesh! Well, the good thing is that this week at school is college week, so I get to wear jeans again! Whoo hoo..I've gotten to wear them 2 weeks in a row!

Other good news was that Chase and Chandler won their football game again on Friday! That makes it 2-0! I can't wait for this weekend!

Ok, well sadly I have to go do my reading for grad school tomorrow night! Enjoy what's left of your evening and have a great week!

remembering

Where were you when it happened?

I was a senior in high school at Lorena High School. I was in my Spanish 4 class that morning, and I can remember my teacher talking on the phone and then going to turn on our television. I remember watching the planes crash into the Twin Towers over and over again. I remember feeling a feeling of helplessness and terror...all the while knowing, that what I just witnessed had just changed the world forever.

I received this e-mail this morning, so I thought it would be perfect to put on here. Read it, and remember, and say a prayer for those who are hurting today.

"MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL"

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .....
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

God
