hahaha..so true..I couldn't resist this one! ;0)

WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED:

Men Are Just Happier People-- What do you expect from such simple creatures?
  • Your last name stays put.
  • The garage is all yours.
  • Wedding plans take care of themselves.
  • Chocolate is just another snack.

  • You can wear NO shirt to a water park.
  • Car mechanics tell you the truth.
  • The world is your urinal.
  • You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky.
  • You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.

  • Wrinkles add character.
  • Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100.
  • People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
  • New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
  • One mood all the time.
  • Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
  • You know stuff about tanks.
  • A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase..
  • You can open all your own jars.
  • You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
  • If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.
  • Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
  • Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
  • You almost never have strap problems in public.
  • You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.
  • Everything on your face stays its original color.
  • The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
  • You only have to shave your face and neck.
  • You can play with toys all your life.
  • One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons.
  • You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
  • You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife.
  • You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
  • You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier.

good morning sunshine!

So Bryan asked me the other day while we were reading blogs (side note: he is now getting interested in all of your blogs because I make him read them with me! He'll be like "Oh is she the one who..." and asks about updates. I'm on the way to getting him as obsessed as I am. YESSSSSS!), "Do you just REALLY like the Nick Lachey post or have you just been busy?" hahahahahahaha...I said honestly, a little bit of both! :0) So taking the hint of my boyfriend, I'll do a quick update for all my faithful readers.

  • I officially have 8 more days of school left! I'm definitely ready, but also starting to become sad at the thought of them leaving. I lost my first student this past Thursday. He's going with his family to visit their grandparents in the Philippines, so he's going to miss out on the last 2 weeks of school. Sad day. I already miss his beautiful smiling face!
  • This past week at school has been probably one of the hardest I've ever had. Oddly, it's not because of my students. It's because of co-workers. Let's just say that I felt shocked, surprised, betrayed, and attacked. I had to show Jesus and love like Jesus more than ever this week. Tears were cried, but now it's over with. And I never want to be back in that situation again.
  • I'm in Shreveport right now. This makes me incredibly happy :0)
  • My parents are on their way at this very moment, to also come to Shreveport to meet Bryan's family. We're so excited!
  • I finished my May mini class on Thursday night. Whooo hoo! It was stressful, but at least I got 3 hours of college credit in only 7 days :0)
  • 2 beautiful babies have entered this world that I'm so excited about~Wyatt Cozart and Addilyn Dawson! They are both beautiful and the cutest things ever! Praise God for a smooth delivery for both Mamas, who look beautiful! Congrats Laura and Shaunna!
  • I drove to Shreveport after class on Thursday and since then my baby and his family have been spoiling me senseless. Can you see why I come here so often? ;0)
  • We went shopping yesterday and then went last night to see the new Chronicles of Narnia. The boy friend didn't like it, but he has no idea what he's talking about. I thought it was good and LOVED it! :0)
  • Yesterday Mom (Mrs. Willa) bought me another plant for my back patio! Currently she's given me 2 beautiful hibiscuses, one red and the other yellow. Yesterday I got a pot of zinnias. I'm super excited! I love flowers, and I love her!
  • Tonight we're taking my parents out for some good Cajun food. I can't wait!
  • For the record, if anyone asks, I'm happy. SO happy..more than I've been in a long time. Thank you Jesus! I'm a blessed girl..ask anyone :0)

OMG!

So I went to the Shreveport airport on Thursday night to surprise Bryan and pick him up from the airport. I was waiting for him sitting in the waiting area/lounge, when I noticed that a flight had arrived and people were walking off the flight. I was standing there, looking at all of the people when who do I see but........

NICK LACHEY!!!!

I PROMISE I did! At first, I was like no, it couldn't be. It's gotta be a really good look alike or something. But then all the other people in the airport started grabbing their family and friends and talking and pointing at him, so I knew that it REALLY WAS HIM! So, instead of you know reaching into my pocket and grabbing my phone and taking a picture of him, what did I do you ask? Well, I just stood there. Yes, you heard me right, I just stood there, frozen, just watching him walk past me and walk away. Inside, I was telling myself, go get his autograph or at least get your phone out and take a picture..but noooooo like an idiot I just stood there. I mean I didn't even move my hand or arm or body or anything. Sadly, the only thing that moved was my head, as I watched him walk away in his cute yellow t-shirt, khaki shorts, and flip flops. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID! Oh well, at least I got to see a famous celebrity! :0)

it's raining..it's pouring!

I apologize for my lack of blogging recently! Honestly, I haven't even had time to sleep, much less post! Hopefully, that will change soon :0). Thank you for all your comments and for checking up on me :0) I really appreciate it! I am feeling much better. It took me a while to shake that cold off! Well, there's so much to talk about I don't even know where to start! I'll make some bullets so I remember what all I need to update you on. Ok here we go..beware, it's LONG!

  • Bryan in Germany
  • Charity's graduation
  • grad school
  • workouts
  • end of the 2 week challenge
  • school
  • weekend plans

BRYAN

Bryan has been in Germany with his younger brother Colby, visiting their older brother Jason and his wife Whitney for the last 2 weeks. Jason is in the military and is stationed in Germany. They've gone to Paris and Berlin, so I'm totally jealous. However, that jealousy will be somewhat less when my wonderful boyfriend comes back with lovely gifts for me! :0) Who is spoiled? That would definitely be me! I've missed him...this is the longest that we've gone without seeing each other since we met~3 weeks. Not so bueno. He has been great about e-mailing me and calling me whenever he can. He's the best! Thank goodness I get to see him tomorrow! He's coming HOME!

CHARITY'S GRADUATION

This past weekend I flew to Lubbock for my sister Charity's graduation from Texas Tech. I flew out on Friday and flew back to Dallas on Monday. The weekend was filled with great adventures at the hotel, bowling, talking to Bryan (all the way in Germany), good food, good fellowship, and just good quality time! Here are some pictures from her graduation.

the two college graduates out of the Snodgrass family kids :0)

the Snodgrass 7 ( from l-r: Chase:17, Chelsey:25, Cherise:19, Charity:22, Chalen:10, Chessa:20, Chandler:16)
the whole Snodgrass family..including E Mama (Ella) and D Money (Donnie)
GRAD SCHOOL

I finally finished that horrible class that I've been suffering through the past semester. I took my final and got an 87, so I was happy with that! I ended up getting an A, so I was really excited! I now started this past Monday, my May mini that I'm taking. I'm so glad because we're taking it with some of our favorite professors, and this class has been such a breeze! It's such a wonderful change from the hell we've been going through this spring! This class is exactly what it's supposed to be..GREAT! This has been such a relief for me. Thank you God! The best thing is that I'll be done next Thursday and get 3 hrs of college credit! My classes are every day (except Friday's) but they don't last that long. We've been getting out each night around 7, and we're supposed to go till 8:30. ;0) I'm so school happy :0)

WORKOUTS

Because I've been so busy running around like a chicken with my head cut off, and been sick, I haven't gotten in many sessions with Mac (my personal trainer). I won't get to either this week because of my May mini schedule/me going out of town/him not having the time I needed. Hopefully next week will be better! I did get one workout in with him last week, but that was when I was sick. Probably not the best decision I've ever made, but I suffered through. It was the hardest workout of my life..and I wasn't able to give my best, and I almost passed out..and I was sick! I was mad at myself for not being "on my game", but Mac said he was really impressed with me. He said most people wouldn't have come and worked as hard as I did. He said that I was a "beast". I took it as a compliment. :0) I don't think I've technically lost a lot of weight because I'm gaining muscle, but I feel smaller, and my clothes are fitting better! I can't wait to be measured again and see what my results are!

END OF MY 2 WEEK CHALLENGE

Yesterday was the last day of my 2 week challenge from Mac of no sweets, fried foods, or cokes. I am very proud to say that I did not have ANY of the above! I was very surprised that I was able to do it, but I did. During this time, I would have thought that not having cokes would be the thing I would struggle with the most; however, it was not having sweets for me that was the worst! This weekend was the worst of the worst! In Lubbock this weekend, we hung out with some family friends, and the mom, Shana is the BEST cook ever! She has a cake business and her cakes are to die for! This weekend I almost cried when after dinner she brought out this, HUGE, BEAUTIFUL, HOMEMADE, CHOCOLATE CAKE!! Then she also had HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! I could tell they were my favorite too..extra chewy and chocolaty! HOWEVER, I did not have even ONE BITE! I was tempted to though..seriously, I should get some award or something! :0) Overall, the last 2 weeks weren't the best of my life, but I definitely didn't die from it. I've learned to modify all the things I eat, and definitely drink more water. But I'm sure glad that it's over with. And the Snicker's that I just bit into is yummmmyyyyy! ;0)

SCHOOL

It's almost over with! WHOOOOO HOOOOOOO! 13 more days! I can make it! :0) Oh summer, I smell you coming!

WEEKEND PLANS

I'm so excited about this weekend! I'm going to Shreveport tomorrow for Rachel's graduation. I haven't been to Shreveport, my new home away from home, in over 3 weeks! It's about dang time! Plus I get to see my baby, and spend some quality time with the Moss family! Can't wait!

Well, that's about the end of my updates. Hopefully that will satisfy you blog sharks ;0) Just kidding...my wonderful, blog, friends! You're the best! Love ya'll!

this has been the worst day ever...will it never end? it feels like it's just building up and building up...there's got to be a light at the end of this horrible tunnel...please pray for me..

*drip*drip*drip*

Well, if you were wondering what was dripping, that would be my nose. I want to know, WHO gets a cold in MAY???!!! Well I guess that would be. I just don't understand it at all. I hate colds. I'm sure that there are worse things that I could have right now, so I should be grateful for only having a measly cold..but I'm not.

Beware, the information I'm fixing to provide may not be appropriate for some and gross others out. Read on at your own risk!

Example #1 of why I hate colds: It makes it almost impossible to sleep properly and restfully. Nobody can get a good night's sleep with only one nostril to breath out of. And then if your nostrils aren't stopped up, they are flooding like the Red Sea when Moses and the Israelites finished crossing it! No joke, last night I went to bed and woke myself up because my nose had been running down my face. I went in the bathroom and had to wipe the snot OFF OF MY FACE!! This is COMPLETELY unnecessary!

Example #2: Because you use several boxes of Kleenexes wiping your drippy nose, you pretty much "rub off" your nose. Why is it necessary to have a raw nose? Isn't the fact that it won't stop running torture enough? NOOOOOOOOOOOO. You have to handle the dripping, raw nose, while at the same time walk around looking like Rudolph. How much torture can a girl take?

I also forgot to mention that there is NO makeup that will cover this up. Even if you did want to put makeup on your already raw skin, it sure wouldn't stay. Oh, I also forgot to mention that your body feels like an elephant sat on you, you want to sleep for days, and every time you blow your nose, it feels like you're blowing your brains out.

So, you can do what I do..not care what other people say, and walk around with Carmex/Vasoline rubbed on your nose. This provides some sweet relief! Now you really do look like Rudolph, especially with your red, shining, nose..but who cares! NOT ME!!!
Now, I'm sure that this is the best post you've ever read. I'm sure that you were highly stimulated, just like I was. Now that my work is done, I'll sign off. Good day!

The North and The South

Be prepare to laugh your head off! :0)

The North and South
The North has Bloomingdale's, the South has Wal-Mart.
The North has coffee houses, the South has Waffle Houses.
The North has dating services, the South has family reunions.
The North has switchblade knives; the South has Lee Press-on Nails.
The North has double last names; the South has double first names.
The North has Indy car races; The South has stock car races.
The North has Cream of Wheat, the South has grits.
The North has green salads, the South has collard greens.
The North has lobsters, the South has crawfish.
The North has the rust belt; the South has the Bible Belt.

FOR NORTHERNERS MOVING SOUTH
In the South: --If you run your car into a ditch, don't panic. Four men in a four-wheel drive pickup truck with a tow chain will be along shortly. Don't try to help them, just stay out of their way. This is what they live for.

Don't be surprised to find movie rentals and bait in the same store.... Do not buy food at this store.

Remember, "Y'all" is singular, "all Y'all" is plural, and "all Y'all's" is plural possessive.

Get used to hearing "You ain't from round here, are ya?"

Save all manner of bacon grease. You will be instructed later on how to use it.

Don't be worried at not understanding what people are saying. They can't understand you either.

The first Southern statement to creep into a transplanted Northerner's vocabulary is the adjective "big'ol" truck or big'ol" boy. Most Northerners begin their Southern-influenced dialect this way. All of them are in denial about it.

The proper pronunciation you learned in school is no longer proper!

Be advised that "He needed killin." is a valid defense here.

If you hear a Southerner exclaim, "Hey, Y'all watch this," you should stay out of the way. These are likely to be the last words he'll ever say.

If there is the prediction of the slightest chance of even the smallest accumulation of snow, your presence is required at the local grocery store. It doesn't matter whether you need anything or not. You just have to go there.

Do not be surprised to find that 10-year olds own their own shotguns, they are proficient marksmen, and their mammas taught them how to aim.

In the South, we have found that the best way to grow a lush green lawn is to pour gravel on it and call it a driveway.

AND REMEMBER: If you do settle in the South and bear children, don't think we will accept them as Southerners. After all, if the cat had kittens in the oven, we wouldn't call 'em biscuits.

Read it!

This e-mail was recently forwarded to me and I am posting this in support of Jason! These are some things that YOU might not have known about him...but I did! :0)

Thought you all might want to check this out about Jason.

I am not in the habit of "recruiting votes" for various TV shows but this has been on my heart for a couple of weeks and I felt the need to action it. If you are not an "American Idol" fan, forgive me, but this is important. If you are already a fan and have a "favorite", you may want to ponder this information. I have watched for several seasons and never before have I seen such a 'bright light shining for the Lord' before now. I think Jason Castro is making a huge impact in Hollywood and I would like to see his "tour" continue. Because of his outward appearance, he has been labeled somewhat negatively but nothing could be further from the truth, so I wanted to provide you with a few real facts. Here we go............

  • Jason Castro, 21, (yes the dreadlock dude) from Rockwall, a junior at Texas A & M. His home church is Lake Pointe, in Rockwall.
  • He received a scholarship in Petroleum Engineering from A & M. He is a member of the Aggie Men's Club, a Christian service organization that spent last spring break in Honduras building houses.
  • He has been on two mission trips with his church to Russia.
  • When asked by IDOL interviewers, what his goals in life are, he responded,"To be a loving father, faithful husband, and servant of all." WOW!
  • When asked what he liked to do in his spare time, he replied, "...I get a lot of joy out of doing things for other people, because at the end of the day, if you've only done stuff for yourself, what joy is it?"
  • When asked what he would do with his first big paycheck, he said,"uh...probably pay off my parent's house...their bills, and stuff".
  • During the judges critiques, while most contestants try to defend themselves in front of the judges, Jason graciously accepts the criticism and smiles respectfully, even though the judges can be very cruel.
  • Jason was contacted by Rick Warren's church, (author of Purpose Driven Life) outside of LA, Easter week, and invited to worship with their congregation since he couldn't be at his own church, and of course, he went.
  • Earlier in the Idol season, Jason was asked about his faith by a few of the contestants and this therefore gave birth to a Bible Study among them.
  • He grew up playing the drums and when he went off to college, he taught himself to play the guitar, and has written several songs.
  • When he auditioned for IDOL last August, he had only sung 5 times in public.
  • Please include him in your prayer time. He has specifically requested prayers for his energy level. These kids are working 15+ hour days with very little down time and they are exhausted.

Finally, I want to reemphasize, this guy's joy is contagious and wouldn't we like a few other's to catch it? Let's keep him on the IDOL stage by voting. Feel free to pass this information on.
