Chelsey turns the big 2-7!

So, I'm just now getting around to posting about my birthday which was on 4-25. Yes, I've been a bit busy!

I had a wonderful weekend celebrating my birthday! My awesome team (with the help of my husband) surprised me the Friday before with lunch from Chick-fil-A, homemade chocolate cake, a dozen red roses, and a sweet card! Yep, they totally rock! Of course another great birthday gift was that my new dining room table arrived! Whoo hoo!

That afternoon my sister Charity and her boyfriend Luke came up, along with my SIL Rachel and MIL Willa. We decided to do dinner and a movie and had lots of fun. We went and saw The Backup Plan with Jennifer Lopez. It was ok, but not as good as I expected. I'd recommend waiting until it comes out on dvd!

My FIL Bob drove up after work on Friday night to join in all the fun! Saturday morning we slept in, Bryan and Bob made a wonderful breakfast and then we spent the rest of the morning being lazy! We all got ready that afternoon and drove to Arlington to meet my bestie Morgan at Cheddar's Café. We had a great time at dinner, then headed over to the ballpark! We went to the Ranger's game that night and had a blast, even though they lost L.

Sunday morning, we got up and went to church, then came back and cooked a yummy lunch! I opened my gifts and then we just spent time watching t.v and hanging out. It was a great birthday weekend and thanks to all who came to participate! Love ya'll!

Come on in and take a seat...

at our new dining room table that is! ;) We finally found her at Rooms to Go and Bryan stayed home last Friday for them to deliver it. It was torture to have to wait all week to have it delivered, but we were so glad when it was! I LOVE it! We bought 6 chairs for now, but we'll probably buy 2 more in the future. It comes with a leaf and extends to 96 inches for when we have friends or family come over. It was also perfect timing because we had some of our family come up for my birthday weekend. It was so nice to finally be able to all sit at the same table and be together!

Bryan doesn't really understand why having this table is so important to me, but it is. At this table we'll probably laugh and cry together. We'll be able to watch our babies grow at this table, spend hours talking with our friends and family, and make memories to last a lifetime. Hopefully one day, we'll still be sitting at this table, talking about all of our memories. It might sound silly, but that's how I feel! :)

and here's my handsome husband! :)

GREAT news!

So, yesterday when I got home and checked the mail, I saw that we had a big packet from our taxes guy. This year we decided to have the guy that Bryan's family has used for years do our taxes (since we got married and all that jazz). We filled out everything and sent it in, and then yesterday we got all of our information back in the mail! When I saw how much our refund was, saying that I was thrilled is putting it lightly! I called Bryan immediately and told him, and he shouted out a big whoo hoo! Let's just say that with our refund money, we'll be able to do a lot, and get several things that we've been waiting for. For example, a new DINING ROOM TABLE!! Whoo hoo! I've been waiting for a real dining room table for over a year now, and I'm so excited that I'm finally going to be able to get one that I'm about to pee my pants! We've started looking around at furniture stores, and are going tonight to several stores to just look around and price check. We got all of our furniture last year from The Dump in Dallas and LOVE that place! We'll see what all is in the surrounding area before we go to The Dump.

We want something that's rectangular, dark cherry wood, and seats at least 6, but includes a leaf to seat 8. With both of our families being so large, it's really important to me to have a table big enough that we can all sit around and be in the same room! I'm also so excited because I'll actually get to use all of my nice table settings that I got from the wedding! Yippee!!

So my question for you is, where did you find your dining room table or where is your favorite place to shop for furniture with good deals?

P.S Thanks a lot for all of your comments yesterday about the birthday post! I really appreciate it!

If you could, what would you ask for?

So, my birthday is coming up soon, in like 11 days! Whoo hoo! I'll be the big 2-7. WOW~ that just feels really old to me! I know most people will say it's not, but to me it feels that way. Anyways, to the point of this post, my hubby and others have been asking me what I want for my birthday. You know how every year you get asked that question, and you try to think of things that you want and one of two things will happen. 1, you automatically know exactly what you want, or 2, you have no idea. What normally happens to me is that I will just come up with something, but then after my birthday I'll think of really good ideas or things I should have asked for.

So, my question is, if you had to make a birthday list of things you really wanted for your birthday, what would you ask for? Hopefully, I'll get some good ideas from ya'll and steal them! Oh and also, what is your favorite movie/movies? I can't wait to see all of your answers!

It’s getting close!

Yes, that would be my graduation from graduate school! May 15th to be exact! I can't wait! J

This afternoon they were having a graduation fair at the Mesquite metroplex, so I drove to Bryan's school after he got done with tutoring and picked him to go to Mesquite. Poor thing was not feeling well..he's basically lost his voice because he had to lecture and his throat was killing him. This morning he was in so much pain, he got up at 5:30, YES AM, to go and get his prescription filled. Hopefully now that he's on his antibiotics, he'll be able to get to feeling better soon.

We made it to Mesquite and I was able to try on and buy my cap and gown right there on the spot. I also was able to order my invitations, so that was very exciting! After we left, Bryan kept telling me that he was so proud of me, that I'm the "smartest Moss" and the only one with her masters (that is until he finishes his next year)! It made me feel very special!

We celebrated by going and eating a yummy dinner at McAlister's and that was G-O-O-D! I did have to get on Skype and we had to show Mom and Dad me in my cap and tassel! ;) I thought that it was really funny that the gowns have "wings" on them..seriously. It's hilarious and yes, I did put my gown on and run around flapping my "wings". Now, if I can only figure out how to put on that ginormous collar…..

Confused….

Well people, I've been sitting here, trying to think of something interesting to write about, but I'm coming up with nothing. I get that this is supposed to be more like my own personal online journal (that everyone is allowed to see..hehe), but I will admit that I love all of my blog friends that I've made and love reading your blogs. I just have no idea how you do some things! Like, how in the world do you get all of those comments? Seriously..I think the post that I got the most comments on was when I announced that I was engaged, but I haven't come close to getting that many comments in a LONG time! Plus, I just wrote 2 very long posts about my trips to London and Germany and got NO comments at all except for Tyly (thank you Tyly for your comment J). I know that I'm probably being a big baby, but it just gets frustrating when you work so hard and long on some posts and nobody ever says anything about it at all. Ok, I'm done with my rant now.

Question number two, how in the world do you all get so many followers? I added the box and follow other people but, I don't know how to get more followers. Ok, well I guess that's all. I still don't have anything interesting to talk about. My husband is now sick, and stayed home yesterday. That was great fun. He went to the Dr. and got 2 shots in the hiney and lots of meds, so he should be on the road to recovery. Bad news is that my ear still is stopped up and I can't hear ANYTHING. That is annoying as CRAP! I'm so over it.

Ok, husband is yelling at me to get off and go to bed, so goodnight all!

Happy Easter Weekend!

Well, we're in Shreveport for Easter weekend and I'm SO glad for this little break! I've definitely been in need of it! Unfortunately, I'm a little under the weather and have been all week. L Hence, the lack of blogging lately. My week has gone a little something like this!

Last weekend was spent working on homework, but Bryan and I did go watch some of my girl's soccer games. It was their first game of the season and they were so glad I came! We had fun watching them! The weather was beautiful, windy, but nice. Bryan and I officially got our first sunburn! After the game, we went and got a snack at Sonic, and went to Lowes to get fertilizer. I took Bryan back to the house so he could go fertilize our lawn and then I went shopping for a new Easter dress! That was fun!

I of course put off all of my graduate school homework until the last minute! I had my regular homework (reading 3 books, doing pithy quotes, writing a reaction paper) plus my course essays to write. Those are 4 essays over 4 core classes that I've taken over the past 3 years. I worked finished my homework over the weekend and then had class on Monday night. Then, I wrote one essay on Sun/Mon, one on Tues and started another, then finished the rest on Wednesday. Tuesday night I had to go to the PTA meeting, and then worked on an essay. I also had to prepare for a meeting that I was hosting on Wednesday for part of my leadership class final, so I was stressed out about that too! After we went to the soccer games on Saturday, I started to feel under the weather. We thought it was just allergies, so I didn't really think anything of it. However, it got worse during the week, so we decided it wasn't allergies. I didn't sleep good all week long because I had a horrible cough. Then, I woke up Wednesday morning with a really bad ear ache in my right ear. Bryan thought I should go to our clinic that the district provides, but I checked online and they didn't have ANY appointments available. Bryan told me to go after school and ask them if they would look at me even without an appointment, bc one of his coworkers had been in the same situation and she ended up being seen without an appointment, so I said ok. I barely survived on Wednesday, but made it through and my meeting I hosted went really good.

I cleaned up really fast and then raced over to the clinic at the perfect time. The last appointment they take of the day is at 4:40 and I got there at like 4:55, so the Dr. would have been seeing her last patient and then could have seen me (which would have taken like no time at all). So I walked into the clinic and told the receptionist that I didn't have an appointment, but I was pretty sure that I had an ear infection and could the Dr. see me. She told me NO! She said they had two appointments available the next day at 1 and 2, but I told her that I was a teacher and couldn't make those appointments. She was like, well we're closed on Friday, so the earliest I can get you in is on Monday. HELLO?!! DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID! ARE YOU STUPID? That's what I was yelling at her in my head, however, I said, "So you're telling me that she can't see me"? and she said yes. She didn't even go ask the Dr! I just said thanks and walked out. I was sooooo mad!

Long story short, I ended up going to a Care Now clinic and saw a Dr. He took one look in my ear and said, "Wow! That's really inflamed! You definitely have an ear infection!" Yeah, no duh! He ended up giving me 2 antibiotics and I'm now taking them and feeling a smidge better. He told me not to expect to get better fast though, because middle ear infections in adults take a long time to heal. He told me he had one that lasted a month. Thank you Mr. Dr. for that! That really makes me feel good!

So, I survived one more day of school yesterday, then we packed and drove down to Shreveport last night. Can you tell I'm ready for some rest, and relaxation! J I hope that your week and weekend is NOTHING like mine was! Happy Easter!

London, Days 4-6, Germany, Day 7

We woke up around 3:30 am on Monday morning to get ready for our flight to London. We rode the train to the airport and made our flight with no problems! We arrived to beautiful London around 8:00 and got through customs without any problems! From the airport we decided to take a train into downtown London. We rode that train for about 30 minutes and then got onto the London Tube. This is where we got our first taste of London! People were EVERYWHERE and moving at a fast rate speed. You seriously had to get out of the way, or you were going to get run over! This made things very interesting with a baby and stroller, plus all of our suitcases, and us trying to figure out where we were going and which trains we needed to take! After switching trains several times and me almost getting smooshed by one, we finally made it to downtown London! We then went on the search for our hotel. Thank goodness we found it without too much trouble! Our hotel was AWESOME! Jason definitely got a great deal on our hotel and it was at the perfect location! We unpacked, went straight and ate lunch at McDonald's and it was great! Haha!

After lunch, we headed to the visitor's center to go get our day pass. These passes would gain us entrance into lots of different places, instead of us having to pay at each place we went to. After we got our passes, we began our sightseeing. We walked to the House of Parliament and unfortunately they were closed for the day, so we just walked around. After that we went across the street to Westminster Abby and planned to go inside. However, after we waited in line and got up to the door, we found out that they didn't accept our pass and it would cost us about 15 pounds to get inside, so we said no thank you and left! I just took a lot of pretty pictures and away we went!

That afternoon we saw the London Eye, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace at night. It was all so beautiful and so much fun! We did sooooo much walking that day and were so exhausted, so we decided to ride the bus back to our hotel! We finally figured out that our passes we bought for the Tube would also work on the buses, so from that on the bus was our major mode of transportation! We got to ride on the top of the bus on our way back, so Bryan was very excited! We ate at a little restaurant near our hotel and then headed back to the hotel for the night.

After a great night's sleep, we woke up and started day two! Day 2 consisted of seeing the Tower of London, the London Bridge, Millennium Bridge (yes the one from Harry Potter) and St. Paul's Cathedral. That evening Bryan and I went back to Buckingham Palace. Since we went late the night before, I didn't get very good pictures because it was so dark. So we went back for round two since it was still light outside! I was so glad that we did because we got there right one time and were able to see the changing of the guards! It was so cool and I was so glad we went back! J

We stopped at a corner market that night and got some snacks, then went back to our hotel to relax before we went to bed. That next morning we woke up at 3:30 am again in order to make our flight back to Germany. We rode a bus and then got back onto the train to take us to the airport. We made it to the airport and made our flight back to Germany.

When we got back to Germany, we took naps and just relaxed for the rest of the afternoon/evening. Bryan and I got everything packed and ready to fly back to the states. We woke up early the next morning, said our goodbyes, and then were on our way home! Thankfully, our flight back to the States was nowhere as bad as the flight over had been! It was annoying having to stop in Atlanta to get onto another plane, because let me tell you, that's the last thing you want to do at that moment! You just want to be there already!

We arrived back in Dallas and were so glad to be back! The only bad thing is that when we switched planes in Atlanta, they sent one of our bags to Kansas City! Um, what? Yeah, we were mad, but thank goodness they sent it to our house the next day, so everything turned out fine!

We celebrated being back in the states by going to our favorite Texas Roadhouse! We were completely exhausted and almost falling asleep while eating our dinner, but it was so good! J

We made it back home safe and sound and had a wonderful spring break! It was definitely a spring break to remember! J We ended up taking around 500 pictures, so if you're brave enough to look at them all, you can check them out on Facebook. Here are all the links!

Germany, Days 1-3!

Well, I guess I've kept you all in suspense for long enough! I'll now try and tackle the huge post about our trip to Europe; however, I am going to break it up into smaller chunks (that way it's less intimidating to me and maybe you'll actually read and comment on it! Ha!)

Bryan and I got all packed up and headed to DFW. We had to turn around a couple of times before we actually found the parking we wanted which was in Remote South (and let me tell you it was REMOTE). We decided that $8 a day sounded better than $14-17 so we parked and rode the bus to the airport. We got all checked in successfully and made our way to the gate with plenty of time to spare. I have to add this funny tidbit in now. We found some empty seats and sat down to this very nice lady who started to talk to us. She and Bryan were talking about where we were all going, where we were from, etc. I had originally been sitting in between them, but decided to switch and let them sit beside each other so they could talk. Bryan is EXTREMELY like his Mother in the way that he could find any stranger and find some connection to them, end up talking forever to them, and becoming best buds. Well, I spent my time waiting for the plane by reading a book, and Bryan spent it talking to our new friend! It just cracks me up. She was really sweet and funny though!

We made our flight to Atlanta without any problems..except me being squished by my husband who has massively broad shoulders. This is an attribute I normally love about him, except when I'm sitting squished in a tiny airplane with the man! We had time to grab a bite to eat at Panda Express, YUM! And then make our way to the gate. We got onto our plane to Stuttgart and were on our way. We were a little upset because evidently they ended up changing planes and our seats got switched. They put us into the 3 seats in the middle which I wasn't happy about, but it ended up being ok because the 3rd person didn't show, so we had 3 seats to ourselves! That was nice! I will say that that trip was probably one of the most UNCOMFORTABLE trips I've ever made in my life. I didn't sleep but only a couple of hours (even with sleeping pills) and was just miserable. I couldn't WAIT to get off of that plane! I did read a total of 3 books on the trip over, so that helped pass the time! J

We arrived in Stuttgart early Friday morning and Whitney picked us up from the airport. We went to their apartment and were able to relax and take a shower so we felt more alive (and didn't stink as much J). We then went to go see Jason at work and had lunch on base. After that we did a couple of errands and then went back to pick up Jason. By this time, jetlag was SERIOUSLY kicking our butts and it was all I could do to keep my eyes open. When we all got back to the apartment, I couldn't help myself and went and took a 2 hour nap. I was still tired when I woke up! Whitney fixed a lovely dinner for us, and we spent time watching episodes of "The Big Bang Theory". We ended up going to bed that night around 8:00 p.m! I didn't wake up until around 9-10 the next morning! Yep, I definitely slept over 13 hours! I love me some sleep! J

Day 2 in Stuttgart was spent riding the train for the first time to downtown Stuttgart to do some shopping! It's really nice because literally all Jason and Whitney have to do is walk out of their apartment and hop on a train! That was really nice! We went to the park/shopping place and I tried crepes for the first time (sorry, not a fan of them). We just spent time walking around, taking pictures, and soaking everything in. There were so many people there!

Day 3 we ended up going to this place where we were able to lookout onto the city of Stuttgart. It was so cool! I loved these pictures. You'll have to check them out on Facebook! It was really cold so we didn't stay too long. We went back, ordered some German pizza and watched more episodes of "The Big Bang Theory". We packed that night for London and went to bed early because we had to get up at 3:30 am!

Stay tuned…all about London is next!

new spring look! :)

Anybody noticed my new spring look? I thought it was about time for a new look seeing how it's the first day of spring (even though there's snow covering the ground right now)! I know that you're all dying to hear about my European trip, but it's not happening right now. I'm tired of being on this computer, so I'll post later. I just finished uploading about 400-500 pictures on Facebook, so if you want to check them out, go ahead and take a look! Meanwhile, I'm going to go and eat some lunch! Be back later!

Germany Bound!!

Well, I can't believe that this day is FINALLY here! We've spent so long looking forward to, planning, and saving for this day! I've always dreamed about going to Europe and I'm finally getting a chance to do it! J

We've had a pretty busy couple of days in the Moss household lately! On Monday afternoon Bryan called me and said that his truck won't start. Ok, problem. Bigger problem was that I was in my grad class, and my professor was in the middle of lecturing, so I couldn't really leave at that exact moment! My poor husband was also locked out of school because he lost his badge (tsk, tsk) and he was stuck out in the POURING rain, soaked from head to toe, sitting in his truck that wouldn't start! Poor baby! Thank goodness that our friends Jacque and Jason came to the rescue! Jason ended up picking up Bryan and taking him home. Because of the rain, and other things, we didn't end up getting Bryan's truck fixed until yesterday. Turns out that it was the battery! Thank you Jesus..we were hoping that it wasn't something more serious! I'm happy to report that Bryan's truck is parked at home in his normal spot! ;)

In preparing for our trip, we made our sub plans yesterday and took care of all of our school stuff and then headed home. We made the Walmart trip to get all of the necessary items, ate dinner at Chili's (our last good American meal before the next week or so ;) and then headed home to pack!

We got everything taken care of, most of everything packed, and are ready to get started! We have a long flight ahead of us, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to post next. We plan on getting to Germany, staying for a day or two, and then we're all flying to LONDON for a couple of days before we head back to hang out in Germany! I.CAN'T.WAIT! Be looking for pictures galore soon!

I'm going to miss you guys! Hope you teachers out there have a great spring break and everyone else enjoy your weekend and next week! Signing off for the last time on American soil! J

I’ve got to take a moment..

and brag on my husband! I've been feeling a bit under the weather this week, so my husband insisted that I take today off of work. I didn't want to, but we both know that I can't be sick when we're about to take such a big trip next week, plus I don't want to get my baby nephew or anyone else sick! So, I arranged for a substitute for today and stayed home-which was great by the way. I slept until noon! :)

Yesterday was a super long day for me because I had so much to do, so I didn't get home until 7:30 last night. When I got home, to my surprise my husband had cleaned the house, made dinner, AND surprised me with 2 dozen red roses, and 2 iTunes gift cards! Is he amazing or what? I know that I am the most blessed woman ever and don't know how I was lucky enough to snag such a great man! He is the love of my life and I'd be lost without him! I love you baby! You're the best!

The Giants!

Bryan decided to join a softball league with our church Sunday school class and they names themselves "The Giants"! Haha..

They had their first game last Sunday night and played 2 games. Being the supportive wife that I am, I went to cheer him on (even though I'm not playing myself). I was a bit of a wimp though and only stayed for the 1st game. They ended up creaming the first team and finished over an hour early and the second game wasn't going to start until around 9:00. That was a little too late for me on a Sunday night, with school the next day. It was also super cold and windy that night, so I decided to head on home.

Husband did a great job though and was completely in his element! They creamed the 2nd team also and husband had a blast! I'm really glad that he's able to find an outlet to playing baseball again..even if it is softball! J GOOOO Giants!!
